It's like having your very own radio show, but instead of tuning in to your specific radio station, users download each show or episode and listen to them on their mp3 player or computer at their own leisure.

Podcasting has become quite popular in the last couple of years. This is most likely due to the fact that there are hundreds and hundreds of Podcasts with a huge variety of topics. It's not hard to find a podcast that talk about your favorite hobby or interest. Another contributing factor to the success of Podcasting is that the vast majority of them are free.

The word "Podcast" comes from blending parts from the words "iPod" and "broadcast".
