Nice intro. You sure have been around a lot! As evidenced by your son's, "Only once!" and more:-) Good story.

Hmmm? I know that I visited this lens before but I just noticed that it didn't have a like from me...now how the heck did I manage to screw that one up. Perhaps I was just too busy reading the first time I visited ;) Situation now rectified. Have a great day Poddy.

  • PatinKC Apr 6, 2011 @ 8:44 pm | delete
Tony, all I can say is "WOW"! hehe... Please don't fill me full of lead!
Love reading about your life and I agree with Vallain about the separate lenses.
  • Meloramus Apr 1, 2011 @ 3:40 pm | delete
What an interesting life you've led so far. Looking forward to reading about the next installment!
  • vallain Feb 7, 2011 @ 3:13 pm | delete
I think you're right, you may have a book with what you are writing here. Think about having separate lenses for some of the segments you are planning to add here. One could be Poddy's - The U.S. Years. Then link them all together, so people could find all the parts of your life.
If you do self-publish it for your family, I recommend Blurb.com which I've used for some family memoirs.
  • poddys Feb 8, 2011 @ 12:48 am | delete
Good thinking, thanks. I just need to get back on track with writing my life story.
  • photofk3 Feb 5, 2011 @ 5:12 pm | delete

I remember my aunt taking me berry picking (I was just talking about this the other day) and I barfed the whole way. Up until that point I didn't know I was car sick person. 30 years later and I still have to sit in the front seat. It was interesting reading a little about you. The cowboy pic is priceless.

Thanks for visiting my lens. I have a long way to go to catch up to you as a lensmaster :-). Best of luck to you. Congrats on the Giant Squid Status.

I am still working on mine. (don't want to rush it)

About the Bear Marketing System, one of the sub programs is "Work For 3 Dollars"

It is a 1 time fee of $3.40, Brian Bear joined under me and I got 40 new downline just since his system launch at noon EST on March 31st. (24 hours ago)

I re-signed up under him, (double dipping). If you want to gamble $3.40 and see if you can get spillover from Brian Bear's System, the link is http://WorkFor3Dollars.com/easy3dollarmatrix

It is not a monthly fee, so I am not sure if it is really MLM or not.

    No pressure though, friend.

Poddys, it was great to find out more about you here. It is amazing how you can get to 'know' someone online like this. Now, when you so graciously answer someone's question or leave a comment, they will be able to find out more about you.

I like the way you've used the black blocks to highlight experiences -- the kissing one is quite humorous. They're like little 'snapshots' of your life.

You've obviously thought a lot about your life...how about your life in a six word sentence for my lens, Your Life Sentence ~~ Six Word Quotations? I know you drafted one when you saw my lens and posted it somewhere -- I am sure once you post yours on the lens, others will follow!

    Brenda

Thanks for the lovely comments Laraine. I have the guestbook set to manually approve comments, so they don't appear immediately. I like to read everything and see what people wrote, rather than having to check all my lenses individually.

Thanks for the lovely comment too Liz, much appreciated.

This is the second time I have visited this lens. I thought I had left a comment -- sorry something must have gone wrong. I read all of your early history and am looking forward to reading more when you write it. Thank you for visiting my lens and the kind comments. Yes, I think that my Staycation lens is the longest lens on Squidoo! 5 stars, fan, favorite and lensrolled. All the best - onward and upward to 100!

Wow, Poddy, you have some really neat lenses and I have enjoyed reading some of them. Thanks for your contributions. Thanks for stopping by and adding such generous comments. (Yes, I do think that I must have the longest lens on Squidoo.) 5 stars, favorite, fan and lensroll. All the best to you - onward and upward to 100.

Thanks for all the lovely comments, and especially for the Angel Blessing Kim.

I have been so busy working on new lenses to become a Giant Squid, that some of my incomplete lenses have fallen by the wayside. However, I am trying to get back on track, while keeping up with other new lensmasters and viewing new lenses, and keeping abreast of the many emails that flood in every day too. I'm also planning for the 100 Club, so ideas for 40 more lenses are in the pipeline...

I hope within the next week I will be back on track and working on the next part of this lens. I have been thinking a lot about New Zealand, especially corresponding with Aussies and Kiwis on here and Stumbleupon in the last week. I think it's time for the saga to continue... Just sad I no longer have the photos from my trips 20 years ago. Oh well... I have the memories - and Flickr - but not the same as using your own photos...

Be sure to come back and check, or to join my fan club so you get my Squidcasts.

Who is Poddys? He's a really cool guy that is caring, helpful and has a fantastic sense of humor. A great addition to the Squidoo community! Thank you Poddys for being there for me and helping me along.

Hi Tony, I was ready to go with you to New Zealand until I hit the "to be continued" dead end. So, I'll have to wait awhile and come back. *grin* Great lens. Congrats on becoming a Giant Squid! JD

Thanks for all the great comments everyone.
I have been spending most of June working on new lenses, and adding them in here of course, but now I plan to catch up and try to continue with the next exciting (well maybe) chapters of my life.
Lots more to come if I do it all in detail...
And pictures to add as well - unfortunately I don't have most of my old ones - I had some great ones of my trips. It's not quite the same to use Flickr etc.

    Hi~
I'm a Baby-Boomer, too. Born on the coast of southern Maine in the U.S.A. Times have changed since way back then, and the world seems smaller!

Tony -- I finally found some time to repay the kind visits of so many including yourself! I am blown away by your awesome writings here ... and can't wait to read more and more! You know, thinking back to my first summer job, I worked as the manager of the pool refreshment stand at a whopping $.35 per hour. Wow! I earned enough to buy some clothes for my freshman college year. Thanks again for all your wonderful contributions! P.S. I just came from Best Buy!!!

I need to do this but I HATE to write about myself. As I now have 54 lenses, I do need to organize them. Maybe this summer. I'll be back to read new segments as time goes by.
