Race To Be "King of the Internet Mountain"
The "barren wasteland" along the Columbia River: An unlikely location for expansion of a worldwide computing. Google is building their multibillion dollar complex in a race to keep ahead of Microsoft and Yahoo. It is located at The Dalles, Oregon, about 80 miles up the Columbia River, east of Portland. Google, Microsoft and Yahoo step up the race for dominance in the online world.New York Times Business and Financial page reports:
"Google is working on a secret weapon in its quest to dominate the next generation of Internet computing. But it is hard to keep a secret when it is a computing center as big as two football fields, with twin cooling plants protruding four stories into the sky."
How far will they go to keep the status of first, biggest, and best in the world wide web. Only the future will tell us the answer to this.
But be sure that Microsoft and Yahoo are also building big new complexes... farther up the Columbia River. The Columbia River provides "cheap power" for operating the huge plants that require cooling systems for all the equipment.
"Google, Microsoft and Yahoo are spending vast sums of capital to build out their computing capabilities to run both search engines and a variety of Web services that encompass e-mail, video and music downloads and online commerce." reports the NY Times.

Power of a Smile
You would be amazed at the difference a smile makes.Smile when you answer the phone. The caller will hear the difference.
Smile when you speak to a child. Their return smile will knock your socks off, and brighten any mood.
Smile when you fill out paperwork, forms, and other documents that normally make you cringe. You will be amazed at how much quicker the task goes, and fewer mistakes you will make.
Smile when you think you can't possibly take one more step. Be thankful for the blessings. We all have blessings, no matter how difficult the times we are walking through at the moment.
Smile when you get up. Smile when you go to bed. Smile as often as you can. It makes you look better and feel better.
SMILE. It'll make people wonder what you're up to.
SMILE
SMILING is infectious,You catch it like the flu.
When someone SMILED at me today,
I started SMILING too.
I passed around the corner
And someone saw my grin
When he SMILED, I realized
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
Then realized its worth,
A single SMILE just like mine
Could travel 'round the earth.
So if you feel a SMILE begin,
Don't leave it undetected.
LET'S START AN EPIDEMIC QUICK
AND GET THE WORLD INFECTED!
