Poems for Eulogies

You can use poems for eulogies to describe your loved one. For instance, a poem may be used to describe a person's personality, or you can use it to describe something your loved one would have said. Another way to use poems for eulogies is to describe the feelings of those that care for the missing loved one.

To first begin to choose a poem, read poems from various sources. You can purchase books or borrow them from the library, you can also try and find them free online or you can purchase a eulogy e-book.

After you collect a number of poems, you are to read through the poems for eulogies. As you read, you will likely find a few of the poems will feel very close to your heart. Create a list of these poems.

When you have compiled a list (no more than 10, but it can be as short as 1), reread these poems and think about how others would feel about this poem in relation to your loved one. Read them outloud... which poem sounds the best? This will help you select poems for eulogies.

I read a book called Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep when I lost my loved one. It had 250 poems for me to read through. It was nice that there were not anymore...
