This is a simple variation of the 10 card poker deal trick as seen done by Luke Jermay.

The spectator gets to pick what cards he or she wants in their poker hand. They end up with a good hand. But your hand always beats them!

The Ten Card Poker Deal

The ten card poker deal has been unfortunately over exposed in print , on the internet, and on YOU TUBE. I include it here in case you are not familiar with it. Try this effect first on someone before you perform the face-up poker deal. If they never seen this trick, good. If they have seen this effect, thats even better, because you will amaze them with the face-up poker deal.

The Effect: The game is 5 card stud. In five card stud you are dealt 5 cards, and whoever has the better hand wins. Simple.

You hand a packet of cards to someone to shuffle. These are shuffled face down and not looked at. You take back the packet of cards and place them on top of the deck. You give the deck to the spectator. The spectator deals the cards. They deal one to you first, one to him, one to you, etc. After you each have 5 cards, the hands are turned over. You win.

Now tell the spectator to shuffle the two hands face down, and spread this packet face down on the table. You pick a card from the spread, then he picks a card from the spread. When you are finished, the two hands are turned over. You win again.

At this point, you crush them with the face-up poker deal, as senn in the Poker Magic lens.

The Secret: When you hand the spectator the packet of cards, there are 9 cards. They are 3 jacks,3 kings, and 3 queens. You imply to him that there are 10 cards in the packet. You take back the packet and put it on top of the deck. Already on top of the deck is a 10 . The ten is an odd card, as it does not go with the other cards. You now hand the whole deck to the spectator to deal. He deals and you win. The secret being that whoever gets the odd card loses.

In the second phase of the trick, you win by picking first and not picking the odd card. How do you know which is the odd card when the cards are face down? You marked it.
