Polaroid on the GO!
Did you get it? PoGo is a catchy name for Polaroid on the GO. So this is a review of the Polaroid PoGo printer. Now, I recently bought this printer, and I must say, I'm very impressed. I almost wet myself when I first discovered the concept. I will explain what it is all about, and if it is worth your hard earned cash.
So what does the PoGo do?
The PoGo is basically a mobile printer. Yes, a mobile printer, how cool is that huh? It is approximately 5"x3 in size, so it hides in your pocket pretty easy without too much bulge. Imagine fitting your big clunky Epson in your pocket eh?This printer really is ideal for todays technology. Phones, digital cameras, or any other devices can pair up with the PoGo and print pictures! This baby can recieve pictures via Bluetooth or Pictbridge USB.
The PoGo is rechargeable so no need for annoying cables to get in the way. You will get roughly 15 prints per charge, which isn't a huge amount, but still, this is early days for mobile printers! You do have the option of leaving the PoGo plugged in to the mains supply though.
The paper it uses to print are sticky backed 2"x3", borderless glossy sheets. And gosh, the prints are surprisingly very good! The paper comes in packs of 10s, 20s and 30s, and is reasonably priced. But do you want to know the best feature of this printer? It does not need ink. Thats right! The paper it uses is called "Zinc" paper. Zinc = Zero INK.

So, is the Polaroid PoGo worth it?
Pros: The biggest selling point is the fact it does not need ink cartridges, so running cost wise, it doesn't cost a lot. The Zink paper compared to standalone glossy paper for the average printer is cheaper. It's compact size is great for portability, and the print quality it offers is impressive for it's size.Cons: The image size is only 2"x3" which would look a little small in your family photo album. I think it is a little gimmicky because of it's size, and obviously it's lack of A4 printing. I suppose there is better photo printers on the market for the same price also, which give 6"x4", which is more a standard size.
Final thoughts: So, I think is is a fantastic bit of kit, and packs a punch for it's size. It's mobility and the sticky backed prints appealed to me a lot. Also, I think the price isn't too bad to say it is so portable. Give it a go, see what you think. You wont be disappointed.
