An American Election Tradition - Presidential Political Campaign Slogans
Every 4 years Americans vote in nationwide elections to elect the USA's President. The person chosen by the voters serves 4 years in the office of President of the United States (POTUS) as the nation's Commander in Chief, the highest government official in the USA.
American presidential election campaign slogans over the past 150 years range from the colorful, confrontational and defiant to the lofty, inspirational and optimistic. Presidential campaign slogans express in a few words the main political issues designed to elect the candidate and defeat opponents. Some slogans (or paraphrased versions) have become part of the American English language lexicon - "a chicken in every pot ...", don't change horses in midstream".
A few campaign slogan themes resurface time and again with slight variations - Change is one recurring theme that's an integral part of Presidential election campaigns.
But do presidential campaign slogans really have any impact on voters, or are they just a clever regurgitation of what political strategists think the voters want to hear?
You decide ... and don't forget to vote for your preferred candidate in the next presidential election!

- There is always so much mud slinging during these campaigns. It makes them look silly sometimes.

I just created a lens with polls on the 2012 issues. Things will be getting interesting for the next 14 months or so.
