The Polk Tsi500 Cherry Floorstanding Speaker is a fantastic for choice for home theater enthusiasts and those looking for a great set of stereo speakers. The TSi 500 is the big brother of the TSi series. It provides the best bass response of any of the speakers in the series. It's (4) 6.5" drivers and 1" silk dome tweeter provide excellent power handling and is great for movies or music. The 4 drivers provide enough oomph that unless you really like a lot of bass you could probably go without a subwoofer.

What Makes the Polk TSi500 a Good Choice for me?
The TSi 500 is the top of the line of the TSi series. The TSi500 speaker is one of the few floorstanding speakers that's flexible enough to be used for numerous situations. The TSi 500 has (4) 6.5" drivers...what does this mean? Basically it means this speaker has lots of power. Other speakers in this line like the TSi 300 work well if used for home theater use as long as you plan on using a subwoofer, but if you're going to be using them mainly for stereo music listening then they just don't produce enough bass. The TSi 500 has enough power to replicate a full range of audio sounds and for most people the bass it produces is such that you don't need a subwoofer. However, for those of you who want bass that registers on the richter scale then a subwoofer such as the Polk PSW 110 Subwoofer will help fill in any gaps.If you think the TSi500 will be too bass heavy, then the Polk TSi 400 may be a better choice for you. The TSi 400 is a little easier on your wallet and since it has (3) 5 3/4" drivers and I'd still recommend pairing it with a nice sub like the PSW 110 to give it that extra punch.
What Speakers to Pair the TSi 500 With?
Center Channel
If you're just beginning to build a home theater system from scratch, then the Polk TSi 500 speakers are a good starting point. However, if you're going to use them in a home theater situation, you need to have them paired with a a good center channel and surround speakers as well. The Polk Cherry CS20 is the ideal choice for this. In a 5.1 home theater setup, your center channel may the most important. Most of the dialogue and much of the sound effects come from this speaker. If you have a lousy center channel, you'll constantly find yourself turning up the volume to hear dialogue. Also the Polk CS20 speaker is timbre matched to all the speakers in the TSi line.
