Interact, Ask Questions, and Get Answers

People love interaction, especially here on Squidoo. Readers want to respond to what they're feeling with their own thoughts, and the poll module can be a great way for them to communicate with just the click of a mouse. Make interaction simple for them, get some answers, and provide the results...everyone wins, and it makes for an interesting lens!

Here We Go! Ways to Use The Poll Module...

  1. Ask readers their recommendations. Have an Amazon module? Ask what they think would be a good fit.

  2. Ask which product is their favorite for the topic your writing about--is it the ipod shuffle, mini, nano, touch?

  3. Ask what they think about a specific product--i.e., is it useful or awful? Readers love to leave reviews, and the poll module can be a quick version of this.

  4. Ask a question with links to other lenses in the answers to the question!

  5. Use your Amazon affiliate code to provide links in each answer to a specific Amazon product.

  6. If you have a lensography, provide a poll asking what lens is their favorite?

  7. Ask how your readers are using a certain product...be sure to provide plenty of possible answers!

  8. Ask readers who have bought the product if they have had problems wiht the product. This will give readers the truth!

  9. Take a survey for your business and get great information back!

  10. Create a special survey lens about your business!

11. Ask what the readers' favorite social networking site is, and provide links to your own profile in each answer.
12. Use it on Hey Monkeybrain! as a follow up poll to the duel and spark even more debate!
13. Add it to your Squidoo Groups page to get input from your members and potential members!
14. Ask readers what lens you should make next and provide a variety of answers.
15. If you ask a question with one of the answers as "other," link the word "other" to your guestbook! Read how to link to specific modules here.
16. Use it to promote your affiliate marketing niche...ask a question about how much income they'd like to make, what their passion is, if they'd like to work from home...anything that will entice the reader!
17. Use the poll module as a text module. The "description" is just like a text module!
18. Ask them to join your Squidoo Group!
19. Before introducing a new product, ask your readers what they think of it.
20. Find the demographics of your target audience and see who is buying your stuff!
21. Add links in your other lenses to your survey lens to get more feedback!
22. Promote the results of a poll by writing about it on a Squidoo lens, or add a product people recommended as a result of the poll.
23. Follow the poll with an Amazon Spotlight module, promoting the results of the poll!
24. Make a charity lens and ask why they're concerned about the cause.
25. Ask if they'll email the lens, and provide a link to email it!
26. Ask how to improve upon the lens, you're sure to get some answers!
27. Ask readers what their favorite charity is, and write a lens about it.
28. Use a catchy poll module title and add it to your table of contents for more clicks.
29. Blog or twitter your poll and ask them to participate!
30. Make a how-to Squidoo lens, and ask how they heard about Squidoo!

Why should I use this module?

Because people love to interact, and you need answers! It's a great combination, and since readers can see the results live, it's even more fun for them.

46. In your Squidflix lens, ask what they liked best about a movie, or who played the character best, what sequel is best, or what TV is best to watch the movie on (here's your opportunity for another Amazon product!)
