Tips for Managing Pollen Allergies

1. Keep and eye on the pollen count. When the count is high, spend more time in the indoors.

2. Keep pollen out of your home by closing your doors and windows.

3. If you've been outside, take off your shoes before entering your home, change your clothes, and wash your hair.

4. Wear sunglasses to avoid irritation to your eyes.

5. When planning a vacation, consider places by the ocean, where the pollen counts is usually lower.

6. Take an over-the-counter or prescription antihistamine.

7. Protein in some fruits and vegetables are similar to that in certain types of pollen so if you suffer from seasonal allergies you may want to consider avoiding such fruits as pears, bananas, apples, zucchinis, and cucumbers.
