These kids were using the buddy system

This was a Case, which occurred in Oakland Park, Broward County Florida. Alicia Jones and DeAnn Mu"Min became victims and this brought a lot of attention to Broward County. These girls were sisters and they were using the "Buddy System" when they came in contact with a Child Pedophile who was definitely a Sexual Predator.

There Mother fell upon hard times and a Man took advantage of this. He saw them in the park with there Mother and invited them to come inside and use his bathroom and house. He let them take a shower and convinced them that he knew how it felt to fall on hard times. The Mother and the children returned to the park and actually slept in their car. The Mother was trying hard.

The kids went to school the next day and she went out looking for work and a place to live. I'm sure, he asked them when they were not aware, what school did they attend and other information about them. He went out looking for them and found them walking back to the park after school. He lured them to his house using left over Halloween candy. The Girls trusted him because they had been over there with there Mother the night before.

He molested the oldest and ended up murdering both children inside his house. He hid their bodies in the attic until they were discovered by the Oakland Park Police Department. He was also a repeat Sex Offender who had molested other children. He gained the confidence of the Mother so he could molest these children. We have to be aware of tricky people. Remind kids what tools tricky people use.
In Broward County and Palm Beach County Florida when a child becomes missing the Florida Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole Officers are notified among others. They form a group of anywhere from 10 to 20 Probation Officers and they search all Sex Offenders and Sexual Predators houses living within a certain mile radius of where the Child is missing. They can expand it if they need to but this is a great tool that is used in these Counties. They do this, which is actually called an Administrative Search. They are allowed to search because all offenders must agree to this provision before going on Probation.

I am Retired from Law Enforcement after spending 24.5 years. I was with the City of Deerfield Beach Police Department for 8.5 years. I was with the Broward Sheriff's Office for 16 years and 2 months. I was on the SWAT Team for 8 years. I was a Motorcycle Cop for 9 years. I was a traffic Homicide Investigator for over 20 years. I was on the Tactical Team for 6 years. I was in the Career Criminal Unit for 7 years. I was the Sexual Predator Coordinator of Broward County Florida for over 5 years. I was the Supervisor of the Career Criminal Unit for 2 years and in charge of SHOCAP dealing with juveniles Serious habitual offender comprehensive action Program, Pawn Shops, Career Criminals, Habitual Criminals, Sexual Predators and Sex Offenders, TACAMO (Take charge and move out) Program and many other operation's at the Sheriff's Office. I was detective of the Year in 2002. I retired from Law Enforcement in Feb 2004. On June 16, 2006 I received the Eisenhower Commission from the Republican Party via President George W. Bush, President George Bush and President Gerald Ford. It is the highest Honor given by the Republican Party showing a lifetime support. Of all the Awards I have ever received, the greatest award I ever received was never firing my gun in the Line of Duty, except at the Range. I never had to shoot anyone and I arrested a lot of the Worst Criminals in South Florida, working in the Career Criminal Unit for my last 7 years in Law Enforcement. I was taught and believe that you should not shoot your gun unless someone is trying to kill you or someone else.
