Warning signs for missing children

Keep an eye out for these kids

Parents, Teachers, Police Officers, Medical Staff and everybody should realize when a child is kidnapped, a child will bond with their kidnappers. In most cases, the child will not be yelling for help. The younger the child, the quicker they will bond with their abductors. The longer they are away from home, the more they will bond with their abductors. Children need food and love to survive. If you do not give it to them, then they Will look elsewhere to receive these essential necessities. May 25Th is National Missing Children's Day. Elizabeth Smart

Remember Elizabeth Smart, when the Police Officers found her, she lied to them and gave them a false name.

Original story: June 9, 2002
Salt Lake City Police are in the midst of a nationwide search for Elizabeth Smart, a 14-year-old girl missing from the Federal Heights neighborhood of Salt Lake City. She was reportedly taken from her home at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, around 2:00AM. Her 9-year old sister saw the incident and describes the suspect as a white stranger with dark hair, wearing a denim-type jacket and a white baseball cap. The intruder forced open a window at the Smart's home and woke Elizabeth and her younger sister. The younger girl said the abductor warned her not to tell anyone or there would be severe consequences, so she cowered, terrified, in her bedroom for 2 hours before telling her parents.

Patty hearst

1974

Patty Hearst also bonded with her abductors and helped them Robb a bank.

Patty is the granddaughter of the legendary newspaper publisher, William Randolph Hearst. Two black men and a white woman had kidnapped her at gunpoint from her Berkeley apartment on February 4th, and taken her captive. They identified themselves as members of the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). The event-the political kidnapping of an heiress from a prominent family---was kept under wraps for twelve hours, and then it began to generate sensational media coverage around the world.

From her report, DeFreeze relied on harsh psychological techniques:
She was isolated and made to feel that no one was going to rescue her.
She was physically and sexually abused by various members of the gang.
She was told that she might die. She was fed lies about how the gang was oppressed by the establishment. She was forced to record messages that blasted those she loved.

In September 1975, a year and a half after her life had been so brutally altered, Patty Hearst was found in an apartment with two other SLA members and arrested by the FBI. They charged her with bank robbery. Her family hired the famous attorney F. Lee Bailey to defend her in court.

Steven Stayner

Abducted at the age of 6 while walking home from school

The younger a child is, the quicker they will bond with their abductors. In many cases, they will blame their parents for not finding them. Many Abductors lie to their victims and tell them that their parents do not want them any more or they can not afford them. People in authority need to be aware of these situations. Parental Kidnappings can be some of the worst kind of child abuse known to exist. Children are neglected from receiving medical care and dental care, neglected from receiving a education, neglected from having any contact with other children, most times even their homes and cars become cages keeping them away from other people. Parents do not think these things out before they kidnap their own children. If you see a child treated different than you would treat your own child you need to report it to the proper authorities.
