Child Safety Tips

Teach Abduction Prevention Without Scaring Your Child or Yourself

Children are the most vulnerable individuals in our society; they are also the most precious commodity that the world has and have a right to be protected from all forms of abuse.

Did You Know...
Over 2.1 million children are reported missing in the United States every year.
85% of missing children are runaways
14% are non-custodial parental abductions
1% are unknown or stranger abductions

Four Important Child Safety Tips

Children should be on the lookout for situations or actions that make them feel uncomfortable, rather than certain kinds of people. ("Stay away from strangers" is a popular warning used to prevent child abduction and exploitation, however, many children are harmed by "acquaintances.")

If someone tries to take you somewhere, quickly get away from them and yell "Someone is trying to take me away!" Say "No", then go and tell.

If someone follows you on foot or in a car, run to a "safe place." A safe place is where there are other people around ... the home of a neighbor or friend or a store; not a wooded area or unoccupied building.

Parents should always carry pictures of their children (taken within the last 6 months) and should take time every day to make a mental note regarding the clothing being worn by their children.

A Message from John Walsh

When my son Adam was murdered, I began my journey through an America that I wish I knew nothing about. An America where adults do appalling things to children.

Back in 1981 when Adam was abducted, there weren't any resources for endangered children and their families. My wife Revé and I had no idea what to do. In an instant, our lives were turned completely upside down. We just began beating on doors asking for help. We called anyone and everyone. It felt as if we were in charge of the investigation. While we feared for our son's safety, we were also angry at the system that was supposed to protect our son and help us.

Adam's abduction was our private hell -- but it was not an isolated incident. Life is an obstacle course for children in America today. Sadly, stranger abduction cases are just the tip of the iceberg. Physical and psychological violence and abuse, abduction, molestation, and sexual exploitation are all overwhelming in magnitude yet largely unrecognized and underreported

New YouTube vids

I WISH (In Search of the Missing Children)

The Music Video "I Wish (In Search of the Missing Children)" was produced by a group of young professionals whose aim is to reach out to people to help find Missing Children around the United States of America. The song is about the sorrow of losing someone dear and a desperate longing to be with that person. It's a cry to be heard, to be given another chance to see and be with that person and the pledge that expresses undying love for the missing one. The song is based on a real-life experience of a mother who lost her little one at the most unexpected time. The producers felt that the song "I Wish" plays a vital role in this music video in search of the missing children around the US. The words and the music in this song speak for its purpose. The people behind this video production offers their sincere intentions, their God-given talents and their devoted time to come up with a Music Video that hopefully would help pave the way to finding "The Lost".
