What is Light Tape®?
Light Tape® is made up of a DuPont metal ribbon coated in Sylvania phosphor and encapsulated in a Honeywell laminate. Light Tape® has no glass, no gas, and no mercury/heavy metals and so is user and environment friendly. Light Tape® provides an 85% - 90% energy saving against other commercially available light sources such as Neon and Cold Cathode and due to its thinness (just 0.5mm thick, as thin as a business card) and being lightweight, affords inherent flexibility of use providing a neater, modern, space saving alterative that is easy to install with little to no maintenance and has a long working life. LumaGrip at the Lion Bar & Club, Walsall
LumaGrip recently completed the installation of their innovative anti-slip illuminated nosing inserts in the Lion Bar & Club, Walsall near Birmingham.
The product was fitted around the club, providing easy to see illuminated edges to all potential trip hazard areas, complying with Health and Safety regulations. This particular project highlighted the need for more defined edging to indicate not only stairs but also smaller changes in floor level from one area to another in and around the bar, and surrounding the recessed dance floor. These areas where essentially laid out over three levels in all, so providing a challenge when the house lighting was subdued and the dance lighting in use.LumaGrip proved to be the ideal solution to the problem at hand. After installation the edges to the differing levels were clearly defined and the overall effect of the LumaGrip within the room was pleasing to the eye whether lit or not. The LumaGrip product ticks all the boxes when it comes to providing an extremely affordable safety feature that is not only illuminated and anti -slip but is also aesthetically pleasing and in keeping with the application.
LumaGrip incorporates the Light Tape electroluminescent lighting product into its design which also makes the lighting system extremely economical to run. LumaGrip is available in a variety of sizes, featuring either 12mm illuminated strips as required, for indoor stairs or other potential trip hazard areas. LumaGrip is offered in a variety of backing colours with Light Tape illumination source come in a variety of colours.
LumaGrip anti-slip illuminated inserts have been developed to fit into standard Aluminum profiles, timber stairs and decking.
LumaGrip Lights the way in Boujis exclusive London Club
The exclusive South Kensington night club, Boujis has put the safety of its A-list clientele first and gained a beautiful, softly illuminated stairway by installing LumaGrip illuminated stair nosing on the staircase leading down from the foyer to th
The low, seductive, ambient lighting that characterises and sets the Boujis sexy and intimate atmosphere, great music and friendly bar staff certainly attracts a wealth of high profile guests to the extremely popular London night spot. However, low light levels posed a problem on the main stairway leading down to the night club itself and that was where LumaGrip came in to play.Illuminated stair nosing's have been available for many years using LEDs but they have always been bulky, complicated, high maintenance and expensive. LumaGrip is set to change this with a range of illuminated inserts that replace existing infill in standard Aluminium and PVC nosing's.
LumaGrip, illuminated stair nosing insert, ticks all the boxes by providing a safety feature that is anti -slip and can be supplied in a variety of colours, making it easy to colour co ordinate or contrast creating an ideal solution that will enhance any stair area.
Compared to standard illuminated nosing's LumaGrip comes with the added benefits of having a good anti-slip rating and a glare free illumination. Also, standard illuminated nosing has, due to the bulb size, been limited to the front of the nosing on the face of the riser, which means they can be seen clearly only when going up the stairs.
The light source has to be bright enough to illuminate the lower tread and the resulting glare can prove visually distracting. LumaGrip however is fitted in to the tread of the stair and so can be seen clearly from both the top and bottom without glare, providing easy to see illuminated edges, complying with Health and Safety regulations
LumaGrip incorporates the Light Tape® electroluminescent lighting product into its design which also makes the lighting system extremely economical to run. LumaGrip illuminated inserts have been developed to fit into any standard 50mm x 4mm Aluminium or PVC Plastic profiles. It is available in a width of 50mm by 4mm deep and up to 5m in length, incorporating either 6mm or 12mm Light Tape® in a variety of Colours. All connections are embedded in resin making the product safe and easy to clean.
LumaGrip has been developed to fit into standard Aluminum profiles, timber stairs and decking as well as uneven floors (edges of dance floors etc) safer and more visible with the benefit of light, which also has the advantage of looking attractive and adding a splash of truly visible colour and interest to any bar or club. This is one safety essential that really looks good too.
In the interest of safety, it makes sense to ensure that steps and varying floor level changes are as visually obvious as possible.
