Pomeranian Pictures

Here's a collection of pictures of Pomeranians, aren't they cute?

Pomeranian dogs are an old breed which originated from Pomerania (where Eastern Germany is now) and once weighed 30 pounds!  The current 5 pound version was made popular by Queen Victoria who had many.

Queen Vic isn't the only famous person who had a Pom.  Michelangelo had one who used to sit on a silk pillow and watch him paint the Sistine chapel and Mozart even dedicated and aria to a pet Pomeranian!

The Pomeranian is a perfect breed if you have an apartment or just want a little dog that will cuddle in your lap all day long.  Plus you can make a lot of friends if you just take your dog out to the park or for a walk - people flock to them like crazy!

About The Pomeranian

Aside from looking great in photos, the Pomeranian also makes a great pet and show dog. It's tiny size of 7 to 12 inches makes it the perfect lap dog.

How To Take Perfect Pomeranian Pictures

How DoYou Get Your Pom To Pose?

Everyone knows it's not easy to take a photo of your dog when he is jumping around so the best way to get your Pomeranian to pose for photos is to try to keep his attention on something.

Maybe his favorite treat?

Try holding it in one hand and the camera in the other. Tell him to sit, then stay and show him the treat - hopefully then you can snap a perfect shot of his hopeful face as he contemplates the tasty morsel in your hand.

If that doesn't work, try to get photos of him while he is asleep!

Our family dog while growing up was also a Pomeranian Chihuahua mix named Scamp. At least I had thought he was the family dog until my brother took him to his new home. Then I found out that he was his dog. Fortunately Scamp missed the rest of the family and was lived with us until his time.

All the pictures here in your lens, LeeD, are very awesome! These Pomeranian shots also deserves another great place where they can be noticed by other people. You know, you could use a little of Pomeranian Checks where you can have the option to put these lovely checks up front. You should try to check out this site that sells customized dog checks. I have one mine, too, aside from other Pom merchandise like the one above (a Pom pendant). I bet you sure love your Pom. Great lens!

LunaPomsMom - I'm so sorry for your loss - my little Pom died 2 1/2 years ago and I am still heartbroken. I guess I always will be. It does get better and in time you'll be able to remember yours with less tears and more smiles.
