Pooh Gift Set

Diaper cake will make a cute but also practical gift for every new parents. Especially if they like Winnie the Pooh Products.

Making diaper cake is quite easy.

Here are some materials you'll need to make one:

- 2 - 3 packs of diapers (depending on the tier of the diaper cake. 3 tier diaper cake usually require 3 packs of diapers). Note: you can also use cloth diapers, but it's recommended to build a one-tier diaper cake for cloth diapers.
- small but practical gifts that you can "hide" inside the diapers. The gift can be pacifier, mittens, socks, washcloth, baby singlets, and baby supplies such as lotions, baby wash, shampoo, etc)
- rubber band to hold the diapers together (please note: don't use sharp object / pin to hold the diapers & gifts together. The gift recipient may not aware of it and may get hurt when they dissemble the diaper cake)
- pooh / other characters plush toy
- colorful cardboard as a base of the cake as well as colorful ribbon & bows
- wooden dowels to hold the tiers together
- Tulle or plastic cover

Here are the basic instructions of how to make them:

I usually make the bottom tier first and for tier 3 diaper cake, the bottom tier usually require 30 disposable diapers.

1. To make the bottom tier: Starting at the open top end of the diaper, roll it up and put a rubber band around it to stop it from rolling. This diaper will be the center of the bottom tier. Note that you can also use baby bottle as the center of the tier.
2. Add around 30 diapers around the diaper (1) and put a big rubber band around it to stick them together.
3. To make the center tier: repeat step (1) and then add around 12-15 diaper & put a big rubber band around it.
4. To make the top tier: repeat step (1) and add 5 - 7 diaper around it and stick them together using a rubber band.
5. Using the bottom tier as an example, cut the circular base of the colorful cardboard. I will usually make the diameter of the base 5 cm wider than the bottom tier.
6. Now you can put the bottom tier on top of the base and you can start removing the diaper and replace it with "hidden" gifts. Do this for each tier.
7.After you finish putting the gifts, you can start assemble the three tiers together using the wooden dowels on each side of the cake.
8. Add a ribbon around the cake. You can use it to cover the rubber band. :-)
9. You can also add plush toy on top of the cake or attach it on the left / hand side of the cake.
10. When you finish with your diaper cake, wrap it with tulle or plastic cover and put a ribbon & bow.

It will make a perfect gift!
