Never leave children unattended in or around a pool. Not even for a second.Remove children from the pool area for any distractions, such as to use the restroom or to use the phone.
Assign a responsible "pool watcher". Someone who can swim and watch the children in the pool at all times.

Install and maintain proper fencing around the pool to isolate the swimming area from the home and play area.Make sure all gates are self-closing, self-latching and open outward away from the pool.
Uses multiple layers of protection such as safety covers, gate alarms, door alarms and motion detection devices. Have the inspected monthly.
Remove all objects around the pool area that would allow a child to climb up to reach the gate latch or climb over the fence.
Post pool signs and emergency phone numbers.

Classic Guard Sentry Safety Pool Fence is a standard in pool safety. Made of durable, UV and tear resistant mesh, our fence is made to stand up to the abuses of weather and time. Both the 4' and 5' tall fence comes in a full length of mesh, bordered on all four sides by a lining to prevent fraying. The length of mesh is then attached to aluminum poles spaced every 3 feet for 4' tall fence and every 2.5 feet for 5' tall fence. Poles are 1 inch diameter and hole to be drilled is 1 1/4". - As the Queensland Government is taking action in implementing laws and regulation regarding pool safety guidelines, there are several pool safety inspection services are providing their expertise in the market. Making Pool inspectors one of the highest paid/earner in the industry.

- Used to work in subsidized housing, inflatable pools for toddlers put up in common areas were a concern; they should be drained after every session and never left sitting there unsupervised if there's any chance a child can access it.
