Pop Culture Words - Words Have Really Changed

Words have really changed since I was a kid. When I was a kid (im 32 now) I remember the words that we used never really changed. There was very little or no pop culture words that I can think of. That changed significantly with the invention of the internet. As the popularity of the internet grew so did our vocabularies. Each and every year it seems we keep adding more words to our vocabularies and the dictionary. According to some these words are a reflection of the times and it is invertible due to our ever changing culture.


My question to you is simple. Has the pop culture words gone to far? Have you ever been out in public or better yet watching TV and someone said something and you had no idea what they were talking about? If even for a second it seemed like they were speaking a foreign language. I confess this happened to me a few years ago when someone made a joke about tossed salad. I did not quite understand the context in which it was being said. I had to ask the person at the table to clarify what they said and the other people at our table laughed at me. I felt embarrassed and dumb founded.

It was then I realized there are a whole gaggle of words I know absolutely nothing about and from that point on I decided to educate myself on the latest and greatest pop culture words
