- I have various poppies in my garden that self seed each year. You never know where they are going to pop up next, it could be in a pot with another plant or the garden itself. But I always leave them where they are because I love their hardiness and the way they keep regenerating.
My Dad passed away on Remembrance Day and his grandchildren know him as "Pop" - which makes the Poppy even more significant for me.
This is a beautiful page :)

- Tall Poppies are people who others think have got to big for their boots, who blow their own horn too much. Aussies then feel they need to be taken down a peg or two. On the other hand they don't like to see others 'down on their luck' and are quick to give a 'hand up'. Must be hard finding the balance in Australia :0 thanks for the link

- I love poppies. We use the flanders poppy for rememberance day in November. I have opium poppies popping up everywhere too and we also have a wild small red poppy in Australia. There is an expression in Australia called "Tall Poppy syndrome" have you heard of it? On my lens for growing veggies you will find at the bottom a photo of a fly in a pink opium poppy. Just Loved this lens. Thanks for the help on Australia day too.
