I want more names. Any suggestions?

OK. Let's try the following:

  • Alternative spelling: If you like the biblical meaning but prefer an unusual name, can look at the varations. For example, for John, it can be Ian (Scottish); Sean (Irish); Jean (French); Juan (Spanish); Jan (Dutch and Slavic); Janos (Czech); Joao (Portuguese); Johan (German and Swiss), and Ivan (Russian).

  • Other variations: Just want to be a little bit more special? Let's look at alternative spelling: For Sarah, we can have Sadie, Sal, Sallie, Sally, Sara, Sarabeth, Sarahlee, Sarai, Saraia, Saralyn, Sarena, Sarette, Sari, Sarika, Sarina, Sarine, Sarra, Sasa, Sera, Serah, Shara, Shari, Sydel, Sydelle, Zara, Zarah, Zarit... sky is the limit!

  • Feminine form of Christian boy's names: It is not surprisingly that we got more males and females mentioned in the Bible, so naturally there are more biblical names for boys. So why not look at their feminine forms? Examples:

    • Samuel -> Samantha

    • John -> Jane

    • Nicholas -> Nichole, Nikki

    Do you have other ideas? Please share with us in the comment section below.

Nice. But I still want more.

Here we go: two websites with extensive information on Christian baby names:
Easton's Bible Dictionary
This classic reference work contains nearly 4,000 entries providing definitions for the most frequently used words, proper names and place names in the Bible.
Godweb.org biblical name section
A useful summary of Easton's Bible Dictionary. The list contains not just proper names, but every word in the Bible that might be suggestive of a good name for your child.
