Coffee or Tea and the Mugs You Drink From

Coffee... You like it or you don't. Or, more to the point, you LOVE it or you don't. That has been my experience, at any rate.

The coffee business has boomed over the last several years. Along with its growth in popularity are mugs, cups, and thermal mugs. Used to be you couldn't find a cup with wild graphics, someone's name, or your favorite pet on it and it was just that: A cup. There weren't many mugs out there. Maybe... just maybe the man of the house had a mug but those certainly weren't the choice of the then modern woman. No, no, no... coffee and tea were served in dainty cups.

In my opinion, cups don't hold enough coffee to drown a mouse let alone satiate my nearly-impossible-to-quench thirst and desire for the delicious, black, roasted bean concoction. And talk about workouts to refill. No sooner had the coffee been poured than it was gulped then refilled, gulped then refilled, and repeat until the pot is empty. I've seen female coffee drinkers with leg muscles a race horse would envy because she loved her coffee.

And... I love my mug. I have one I use the most while others - one of which my daughter made when she was in high school - set in the cabinet; jealousy seeping from their unused interiors. My favorite cup is big. It's colorful. It has a huge handle my four fingers can slip through. (Those descriptions sound oddly like my husband.) Best of all, I can fill it to the brim and not refill it for at least five minutes.

Coffee mugs and thermals are great giveaways and gifts. In fact, my mom - also a coffee lover - collected mugs for years and years. I bet she's got a hundred of them at which my dad can only shake his head and mutter his mantra, "It makes me no never mind..." before he launches into mild complaining about her collection as well as her need to buy expensive coffee.
