If you are a mom or dad of boys you know that once boys reach a certain age strolling down the Pink isle at the toy store is a no no. When I am shopping at the toy store for a gift for one of my nieces the second I turn down the pink isle I look back and no longer have my boys behind me, they quickly scatter to the nearest boy friendly isle. "we'll be over here mom"

So what are popular toys for boys?
Little boys like fire trucks, police cars, army men, or just about anything that is hands on.

Here you will find the most popular toys for boys and you'll notice that I really don't include a lot of toys that require batteries. I also didn't add any video games for this age group. I really feel it is important for children in this age range to use their imagination to play and as parents we know as soon as they open that toy with batteries it will be sitting in the bottom of the toy box in 6 months - useless!

Not that I am completely against battery operated toys I just think it's best if the majority of boys toys at this age use no batteries - they seem to last longer! Boys are hard on toys and they really out grow them so quickly, I try to teach my boys to keep their toys in good shape for the resell market. A good incentive is to let them sell their old toys at a garage sale and then use the money to buy something new! With the way the economy is right now, every penny helps!
