Why Portable Chicken Coops?
Why Portable Chicken Coops? A lot of people interested in owning chickens aren't your traditional farmers. They are ordinary people, like you and me, who want to enjoy the benefits of owning some chickens, but may not have a lot of space for a chicken coop. They want an affordable way to accommodate chickens in their backyard utilizing as little space as possible.
Portable chicken coops can help make this a reality.

Portable Chicken Coops Work Best in Limited Spaces
As mentioned above, if you have a small yard or don't have a lot of space to work with, portable chicken coops are a great option for you. They are big enough to house between 2 - 4 chickens comfortably, but are portable and light enough for you to relocate to a fresh patch of grass for your chickens to graze on.
This helps to cut down on the cost of chicken feed and also provides your grass or garden with a small amount of potent fertilizer each day. Your chickens will not only make your lawn more healthy, but will also keep it trim.
But aren't portable chicken coops expensive?

Portable Chicken Coops Don't Have to Be Expensive
It's true, a pre-built portable chicken coop can easily run about $1000 for materials and labor. Plus, they don't tell you that you have to assemble it anyway! Why spend that kind of money when you could easily learn how to build a chicken coop in your own backyard for a fraction of the cost?
In fact, it's very likely that you already have all of the tools required to build one (hammer, screwdriver, possibly a drill?) and the materials can be found at any home improvement or farm supply store for no more than $100 or so.
