Porta-Bote

I bought my Porta-Bote in fall 2006, just in time for the campgrounds and parks in Alaska to close for the season, and began using it this summer. The following modules and links provide information on the Porta-Bote, modifications and accessories, and links to online user groups.

Our Porta-bote

I have to confess that this lens was started by my husband, but eventually I asked him to transfer it to me because he never worked on updating it. Just want to give credit where it it due!

Before getting the porta-bote, we would do little more than blankly stare at the canoe that came with our house. It was too big to carry on top of the Subaru and we couldn't carry it on top of the RV, so it was just sitting at the house doing nothing. The Porta-bote looked like a good option for camping as it could easily be carried on the RV, or even on the Subaru if needed. We've had lots of fun using this little boat, and even sometimes bring one of the dogs along.
