What do you look like after 11 years in the internet marketing business? Apparently, like this. Meet Ian. He runs an internet marketing agency, Portent Interactive. He wrote a book, too, for people who want to learn more about internet marketing and search engine optimization but are not yet sure about hiring him.

3 reasons NOT to hire Ian

and to run screaming to the nearest web designer

  1. You care more about a pretty website than ringing the cash register.

While Ian's sites have won awards, he cares more about increasing ROI than getting oohs and aahs.
  2. You think you know more about internet marketing than he does.

So you have a better understanding of how to make money on the web than Ian and his team? Great! Good for you- then all you need is a development company, not an internet marketing agency.
  3. You think internet marketing should be a slow, committee reviewed process where everyone agrees on everything.

Ian and his team know that you have to move fast to grab opportunity. So if you would like a slow, leisurely internet marketer, please go elsewhere.

Success Story #1: Saltworks

why Saltworks loves Ian

Challenge: In short, more bang for the buck. Saltworks is one of the Internet's premiere sellers of retail and wholesale gourmet and bath salts. Sales were good, but owner Mark Zoske felt they could be better. His challenge: Greater marketing efficiency and ROI. Saltworks needed to increase sales while decreasing high pay-per-click advertising costs on Google, Overture and other pay-per-click services. He called Portent Interactive to help get his internet marketing program on track.

find out the criteria for working with Ian and his team

We are selective with out clients so we can provide kickass service and great results to each of them. Do you make the cut?
  1. You are comfortable with us being your outsourced VP of internet marketing. You set the goals of your campaign and the budget, and we get complete freedom to achieve those goals.
  2. You understand that internet marketing is a long term deal. Results take time- we operate on months and years. Are you ready to make a long term investment like this?
  3. You can move quickly. Or, if you are a larger firm that moves more slowly, you can assign someone to work with us who can move quickly.
  4. You think achieving a remarkable ROI is more important than receiving design awards. Though we have won design awards, our focus is always on ROI. Is yours?
