Who is Portia Doubleday - Actress

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Portia Doubleday is the daughter of Frank Doubleday and Christina Hart. Portia grew up in a show business savvy family as her parents are both former professional actors, and her older sister, Kaitlin, is also an actress. Her mom Christina currently works in the entertainment industry as a writer, and stage producer.

Portia's first TV gig was in a commercial for Goldfish crackers when she was just eight years old. She also had a minimal role in the movie "Legend of the Mummy" in 1997. Both of her parents mandated that Portia finish high school before taking on a full time career in the acting biz. She soon was cast in the short dramatic film "18" in 2009, about a girl young dealing with her mother's impending death.

Doubleday gained substantial acclaim by starring with Michael Cera in 2010's teen comedy "Youth in Revolt". The film was based on the 1993 novel of the same name by C. D. Payne. Portia described her character's makeup as "mean" and "really complex". She plays Sheeni Saunders, a young girl with a dull life who meets Nick Twisp (Michael Cera) while on a family vacation. The movie, directed by Miguel Arteta, debuted at the 2009 International Film Festival in Toronto.

Portia is currently studying psychology in college while she continues to act, appearing in the ABC network's comedy Mr. Sunshine, which is a midseason replacement for the 2010-11 television season.
