Challenges I Have Faced And Overcome!

Life's journey begins with little or no conscious understanding of our means to survive but, through the process of education from your parents and later schooling, we arrive at a point where the decision to proceed with a particular career or job will create an income or means to achieving financial success. To a greater or lesser degree than is found acceptable depending on how we apply our accrued knowledge.

Self satisfaction is for me the ultimate goal through the creative channels of design, print and marketing allied to social and web media platforms. (My bio will confirm my vocation and interest list how I spend my spare and extremely valuable time)
I aim to show my Lens visitors some of the sources that have inspired me as well as those that have been added since with the emphasis on entrpreneurial thinking and personal development as the theme for my content.

This Lens was inspired by the challenges that have occurred in the course of my life which I feel have altered it's course from the "normal". The necessity to bring a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) to my list of essentials in getting over the challenges that have faced me without doubt are a pre-requisite in anyone's day to day survival.

In 1992 I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumour and underwent surgery over a period of 6 weeks on 3 occasions successfully sealing up a leak between my brain and the outside world.

In 1996 my business premises were subject to an attack of arson, allegedly, having never been confirmed one way or the other.

In attempting to overcome the second of these events I tried to restore my business to it's former success. In the end I found the strains of doing so combined with the impact of other health issues too much and after selling the business in order to relieve this I subsequently declared myself bankrupt in 2001.

I have now been discharged since 2004 having duly served the 3 year period determined by current legislation that places me under certain constraints as regards the provision of credit facilities. This continues for a further period after discharge until banks and credit agencies can see you have a "clean" record in your dealing with financial matters.

At various points I felt very low in my sense of personal ability to overcome these challenges but an "inner" belief that I have maintained and used as an ongoing resource has helped me to see the future more brightly in spite of these and the now general downturn in the global economy that faces everyone in some shape or form.

So having had my 3 bad luck deals I am now ready to face the future battle hardened and wish to move onward in a more enlightened state of mind.

I admire this Lens! I also went through something similar to your tumor. (Sorry by the way) I had a blood clot and after being away from friends and family, I lost my optimisim. I still haven't found a good way to get back to that way of thinking, so thank you! :)

Great lens. Positive thinking is very important both in the work environment and in the daily living, especially in hard time. People with negative thinking can be a kind of poison, make you or your company loses the competition slowly. The way you have presented your thoughts on the subject indicates how interested and well versed you are in this field. Thanks for your effort and for sharing the information. Recruitment jobs need consider people's thoughts as well as his capabilities, sometimes his attitude even more important.
