Death in its own way always intrigued me, because I know it is inevitable and I have no idea how...wish I did kinda.

Wow! This is strange.. thanks for bringing it up.. I had heard of death masks before, but I didn't know they were so popular at one time!

I was fascinated by the subject, and there's no better way for me to learn more than to write about it. Things done in past history are so interesting, and everyone is intrigued by things related to death...a subject that we want to run from in one sense, but are drawn to in another.

I saw a photo of a group of 3 sisters for sale on Ebay here, and the middle sister was dead. I think that it was a way to remember the third sister. Interesting lens!

Interesting. I used to work in New Scotland Yard and was lucky enough to go to the Black Museum. They have many death masks there from people who were executed by hanging before it was banned in Britain.

An interesting and unusual lens. It's interesting the things you can buy from Amazon. Post mortem tools - Is Hannibal still about. oh dear. Great job and 5*****

LOL on Hannibal...I know, strange, I was surprised to find them...added as a curiosity, I mean who would really buy the things...other than Hannibal of course:-)

Very unusually and unique topic. Interesting mask, though a little creepy. 5 Stars.

Thanks, Sandy, yes, I guess it could be a little creepy..but sometimes that's just what makes something intriquing:-) Thanks for the 5star rating, appreciate it.

how interesting! most people never heard of these. I owned two death masks, they are gone now cause they broke...although I have another one claimed to be one, but I don't think so...we brought them with us when we immigrated from Germany...The story is well written, and a 5* lens
  • happynutritionist Mar 26, 2010 @ 1:11 pm | delete
So sad that the masks you had broke, interesting that you brought that when immigrating from Germany, I'll stop by and visit to get to know you better, we love artists in our family...have a few of them in the fmaily:-) ~claudia
