Postcard Sizes: How to Choose The Right One for Your Marketing

Postcards are great tools to use for your marketing campaign. They are easy to create and inexpensive to print. Various printing options, including postcard sizes, are available. Depending on how much images and text you need to include on your designs, you should choose the right size that suits your needs. Here are some tips to help you decide whether you should use small, medium-sized, or jumbo postcards:

Tips on Choosing The Right Postcard Sizes

postcard sizesWhen you want to send greetings to your clients or say thank you for a recent purchase, small postcards would be the right choice. Also considered as the standard sizes, you can choose between the 4x6" and the 4.25x6" card prints. These two are also the most affordable to mail; only $0.23 per piece at First Class Card Rate. Making your clients feel good about your business doesn't need to be expensive.

If you want to send invitation or greetings but want to have more detailed prints, you can use medium-sized postcards. Print either 5x7" or 5.5x8.5" cards. These cards offer additional space for message and photos. Aside from using them as invitations, medium postcards are also perfect as card calendars and souvenirs that you can hand out during seminars and other events. Printing and mailing prices for these cards are lower than jumbo card prints.

Sending out postcards to impress and catch people's attention? Then, jumbo or large-sized postcards are just the right one for you. Oversized cards, with great designs, stand out in mailboxes and have better chances of getting read than ordinary-looking marketing cards. You can choose between the sizes 6x9", 6x11", and 8.5x11". Both the 6x9" and 6x11" cards are charged by USPS (United States Postal Service) as letters or large envelopes; which may mean a bit costly.

On the other hand, if you would rather print 8.5x11" cards, you need to have them folded so they'll qualify for mailing. Also, you either tab the cards or stuff them in envelopes before USPS would accept them.

If you're thinking of a specific size that aren't mentioned above, you can contact your chosen printing company about custom options. There are custom sizes available from most printing companies but they cost more; both to print and mail. You have to also note that USPS has a rule that postcard should not have rounded edges; they are considered non-mailable.

From the smallest to the largest, you have a wide array of choices when it comes to postcard sizes. You just have to consider your goals and your design plans to know which best suits your needs.
