Learning About the Posture Pump Cervical Spine Trainer
After years of chronic neck overextension and incorrect posture, I had let my problem get so bad that I could no longer play the piano (I was a piano performance major in college).
The damaged nerves in my neck were affecting my ability to use my left arm.
Why didn't I take care of it sooner? I really don't know. I guess I just was waiting for it to get better on it's own. (See my warning below in the "Something to Remember" section)
It didn't get better on it's own.
But once I started getting weekly adjustments from my chiropractor, started using the Posture Pump Cervical Spine Trainer, and change my posture habits my pain was significantly reduced.
I was able to have full range of motion with my neck and it reduced my very common tension headaches.
(For more information for tension headaches see my lens on the topic.)

How Does the Posture Pump Cervical Spine Trainer Work?

Here's the deal with how the Posture Pump Cervical Spine Trainer fixes your neck.
You lay down on the floor and strap your head into the Posture Pump. It has several different hooks so that you regulate the pressure that is put on your forehead and chin.
Make sure you place the bottom on the Posture Pump at the base of your neck.
Then you take the hand held pump that blows up the balloon and give it a few pumps. You will feel the ball start to inflate directly behind your neck (it should feel centered) and you will feel a gentle stretch of your neck.
Pump up the balloon with 3 pumps. Count to 10 and let the air out. Repeat.
Then, blow up the ball behind your neck so that it can't be pumped up any more. If you can't go that far yet, don't worry. Just pump it up to where it feels like your neck can't be stretched any more.
It will not feel comfortable. This is undoing years of damage of craning your neck so you will need to bear with some discomfort.
The posture pump can't hurt you. It has an air escape mechanism that blocks it from inflating in such a way that will overextend your neck.
You should lie on the inflated ball for 12 minutes and NO LESS. You need to give the Posture Pump time to affect the soft tissues in your neck.
Your soft tissues in you neck have adapted to the unnatural position you have kept them in and need to be reformed to do the correct thing.
Once your 12 minutes are over, slowly deflate the ball and gently roll to the side without moving your neck.
Then slowly sit up and gently get your neck adjusted to moving.
I felt a difference the firs time.
My head seemed to be balanced and held up better by my neck and my neck felt very long and supple.
Do this EVERYDAY. You are teaching your soft tissue s do perform in the way they are supposed to so this takes time and patience.

and more!
Mine was pretty expensive to buy but I figured that surgery would cost me a whole lot more time and money (and pain!)
I also know that using these products will help me limit how long I will have to continue going to see the chiropractor (also pretty expensive).
I highly recommend two things (yes, I personally own them):
1) the Posture Pump Cervical Spine Trainer (the first two on the list)
2) The SleepRight Memory Pillow. A lot of the damage that I was doing to my neck was happening at night when I was not aware of it. After I got this pillow, I would wake up in the morning and be able to have full range of motion when moving my head.
Find out What Other Are Saying
The good news is that lots of people have posted what makes them feel better which means you have the ability to look it up and try all the suggestion out! (Except the ones that sound dangerous, don't do those)
Lots of these people have tried the posture pump. You can read on to find out what they have to say.

Something to Remember
Please please please do NOT let this problem go on.
If you have neck pain, do something about it!
I waited 5 years before I did anything about my neck problems and I am now having a much harder time fixing this problem than if I had just addressed this in the beginning.
If you have had this problem for a while though, don't worry. It can be fixed. I am working on it right now and seeing a huge difference.
