The Kiln Goddess Opens Shop

If you take a gander at my other lenses here at Squidoo you'll see I am rather fond of clay, obsessed some might say, addicted I've heard whispered amongst family memebers. I will admit it is a lovely addiction to have and one I am not likely to want to quit anytime soon. So what does a goddess do when she finds herself knee deep in pots, bowls and everything clay can make? Well she needs to set herself up a potshop to sell it.

So i am proud to present Kiln Goddess Creations an online etsy store where I am selling my work. Kiln Goddess Creations is my online division of my offline studio, PotShopChaos Studio. The following can all be purchased at my etsy storefront.

The Kiln Goddess' Bowls

For me the perfect canvas is curved and the perfect colors are made of glass. I love that bowls are functional, they can hold the necessities of life...food, water, and yes, even air.

My bowls are my favoritest thing I make. I love the flow of colors down the side of the inside curve. I love the melding of colors at the bottom of each bowl. Its like a ocean of colored glass. So unique and one of a kind.

The Kiln Goddess' Vessels

The vessel is such an upright form. Always seems a more formal shape than a bowl to me. I love to push and pull the curves in the walls. I love to flare or turn in the rims. The walls are like a lovely silhouette of some unknown object sitting in a window, you can only guess at what they really mean, what they really are, and what they hide until you enter and find what is inside.

Kiln Goddess' Plates and Dish Forms

Plates a shallow dishes are functional, decorative, and very versatile. I have been play with plates and dishes lately. So many ways to make them. Current on of my favorite things to do is to press lace doilies into the clay before making the plates and dishes.

The Kiln Goddess' Pendants and Pins

My wearables are kinda like doodles. When I have a little extra clay left over from a project I roll it out and roll things over the clay, push things into the clay, smooth things out and start over again. Once I have had my fun I cut out a shape and fire it. These little pieces are great to test glaze combos on or just glaze to make something pretty.

I have a large boxful that I've claimed as mine and wear all the time and another even larger boxful that I sell. When I wear mine I never go a day without a compliment on them. They are casual enough to go with anything and it is always nice to have pretties that match your outfit.

The Kiln Goddess' Stones

I carry 2 stones in my wallet, one says 'Dream' and the other says 'Always'. It is a reminder to myself that when the day has been a bear and the world is coming down around me I still have what is important to me...my dreams. These stones that you'll find in my shop are to help you to keep seeing the big picture and to keep what is most important to you next to your heart no matter if it is family, friends, love, or any other big idea that you hold dear.

If you don't see a stone featuring a word you want please join etsy and convo me and make a request and i will make a custom listing for you. Please allow 3 to 6 weeks for completion and delivery.

Just Stuff

I always say I make 'stuff'. Yes I make bowls and vessels but mostly I make stuff. I like going into the studio and making stuff. So here is some stuff I made. :)

My Drink Coasters

The Kiln Goddess' Magnets

Magnets are fun. Fridge decor doesn't have to be those hokey plastic magnets from the discount store. I decided to make some pretty clay magnets. The are perfect for kitchens, memo boards and the sides of file cabinets.

The Kiln Goddess' Season Celebration

You can't create without being swayed by the passing of a year. Those seasonal celebrations make some break out in song but I break out in clay. Unlike most commercial manufactures I don't gear up for a holiday by making seasonal stuff before a season, I usually make my stuff during the season and box it up to sell next year. That way I am not celebrated out by the time the celebration is here and can sit back and enjoy the season as time passes.

How I Ship

Having my items make it to your door in one piece is very important to me. If you are curious on how I pack my stuff to ship here is a page I wrote about packing pottery for shipping.
