When a toddler begin to use the potty it is a VERY big deal in their life.  Here are some potty training your child tips to help make this transaction a bit more smoother for you and your child.  Generally a child can be ready for potty training between the ages of 2-4 years old.  But first you  need to recognize some signs that may indicate whether your child is ready.

Potty Training Your Child - How To Tell If They Are Ready. 

Your child just may be ready for potty training if they could:



  • Brings you a fresh pamper when they are soiled.

  • Predictable and regular bowel movements.

  • Can pull up and down their own pants.

  • Know what the toilet is.

  • Follow simple directions.

Potty Training Your Child - What If They Are Not Ready? 

If your child is not showing these signs it is okay.  Children are ready on their own time. Try again in a few weeks or maybe a month or two.  Don't force them because this can delay the process of potty training and make things more frustrating for you and your child.

Potty Training Your Child - Importance Of Cleanliness! 

Your child is never too young to know about cleanliness. Here are a few tips:



  • Encourage children to wipe front to back.

  • Teach about the importance of hand washing.

  • The toilet or potty equipment should be cleaned with a water and bleach solution (1/4 cup bleach to 1 gallon water)
