Some of the differences between potty training girls and potty training boys

When Potty Training Girls one of the best methods to get her started is to have her own potty in the wash room. When Mommy goes to the WR let your daughter play the monkey see monkey do game. Mommy, talk to her and let her know what is going on and encourage her to do the same. Maybe have some of her favorite books in the WR, so she can look at while she tries to Potty.

Once she does start to Potty make sure you teach her to wipe from front to back. To eliminate chances of infections. And of course wash your hands after your finished.

Potty Training Boys will happen a little easier if Dad is willing help with the task. Follow the same techniques as with a little girl, with monkey see monkey do. Dad, let your son come in and sit on his potty while you sit on your potty. Instead of books, maybe let him bring in his little guitar. Tell him there is nothing like strumming a little tune while he Dumps a load.
When your son starts to talk about pee-pee and poo-poo, its a good sign he is ready to start training.

And Dad, make sure you teach your son about skid marks in his big boy shorts, cause we all know that Momma don't like skid marks in the drawers. Wipe and then wipe and swipe again, just to be sure. Wash your hands real good and your done.

When Potty Training Girls I found it helpful with my daughter to set goals and rewards or "Special Dates" For every day (24hr) that she used the Potty and did not use any diapers, she could pic out a certain pair of panties from the sears catolouge. She seemed to like the Dora the explora theme. When she was able to go all week, mom and daughter went to do the girly thing at the mall and get some cute dresses and "Girly" things. And Finally when she was trained, (One accident in ten days) We all went for McNuggets and a movie.

We set these goal and dates when we first started and they seem to work well.
