They are very popular on a wide variety of heroes. The only two I always purchase them for are Magina the Antimage, and Ulfsaar the Ursa. They work best on characters who have effects added to their strikes, as it boosts attack speed and an attribute of your choice. Anyone with the bash ability like the Void or Naga Guard are excellent choices. Most Dota geomancer players also purchase power treads.
