Modified Toys

I'll bet you know about Power Wheels toys by Fisher-Price, but did you know you can modify them?  You can take that Barbie Jeep, or that Jeep Wrangler, or even the Motorcycle, and turn it into the fastest one in the neighborhood.  How do I know this?  My husband did it.  Enjoy the ride!

What He Did

My husband got your basic Power Wheels Fire Jeep really cheap in the neighborhood one day. You can imagine how much my 7 year old son loved it. After it broke a couple of times, my husband was inside the thing, trying to fix it, when he thought; Hmm, this doesn't look to hard, I'll bet you can modify these things.

He took a tour of the internet and found out that there were many people dedicated to doing just that. Modifying their children's Power Wheels.

The only thing my husband has done to my son's at this point is change the gearboxes and put bigger motors in it. You can give them extra batteries, you can find missing parts like grills and tires, it's amazing what you can do. Fisher Price doesn't recommend it, and you can't really find one website for the parts, but if you know where to look, you can change just about everything on your child's Power Wheels Vehicle.

This is what my husband started with. An old Jeep Fire Truck that he got real cheap in the neighborhood. My son still uses it. My husband is thinking of modifying it again. Right now, when my son rides his through the neighborhood, everyone stares, because, according to my husband, he's going about 30 mph.
