- Well, I have always found a good old nap to be great. What do they say about 'All I need to know I learned in Kindergarden'? I have worked at companies where they could fire you for falling asleep. How foolish!

Power Nap Devices
The term power nap was apparently coined by Cornell University social psychologist James Maas. Basically it is a short nap that is designed to refresh you.Research at the Salk Institute has how that napping benefits cell repair, heart function, and hormonal maintenance. A power nap maximizes these benefits, by getting the rejuvenate effects in as short a time as possible. The brain benefits as well. A study done by NASA found that although naps don't aid alertness, they do improve memory functions.
Other recent studies have also demonstrated that power naps can boost productivity, lower stress, and improve learning and mood. Looking at the MRIs of nappers, researchers at the Salk researchers found that with a nap, brain activity stays high throughout the day. However, skip the nap, and brain activity declines later in the day.
Many busy executives who are deficient on regular night time sleep make time for short naps during the day. When Steve Fossett made his record 67-hour flight around-the-world alone in his jet, he took a couple dozen two-to-three minute naps as his only sleep, and claims that he awoke refreshed.
When Lance Armstrong was training for the tour-de-france bicycle race, naps were an important part of his routine. In Iraq, U.S. Marines are instructed to take a power nap before going on patrol.
Power naps are beneficial and this lens will give you the information and resources to incorporate them into your life.

How To Power Nap
How much do you sleep? Is that enough to keep you energized all through the day? If you're like most people the answer is "probably not," even if you take a good multivitamin/mineral/phytonutrient supplement. That's why today I'll be discussing the much taunted, much mocked, and much made fun of to the point of toomucherry yet ultimately effective technique known as "Power Napping". (Insert whooshing sound.)Honestly, although it is often mocked, the power nap is one of the best tools for busy people who have to rely on clarity of thought in order to be the most effective at what they do. This includes business executives, counselors, programmers, managers, coordinators, mathematicians, and of course, writers, among others. Basically if most of your work involves thinking and wiggling your fingers on a keyboard, blackboard, or waving a writing utensil over a notepad then this most likely applies to you.
What are the advantages of power naps?A power nap can make the difference between a good idea and a great idea. It can make the difference between being enthusiastic and radiating enthusiasm. It can enhance relationships, both personal and professional, by allowing you to better concentrate on a person or group of people, their message, and enhances your ability to properly act upon the newly received information. Truly, the power nap is one of the most important skills to master as either a student or professional.
Now, what exactly is a power nap?
A power nap is a short nap, usually between 10 and 30 minutes long, taken in the middle of the day in order to reinvigorate you for the next part of the day. Power naps are not like regular sleep, so you won't be groggy after taking one. While you might have "dreams", power naps are more akin to meditation, where thoughts are allowed to move from the sub-conscious mind to the conscious mind and back again without you concentrating on them.

Pzizz Power Nap Handheld
The Pzizz Personal Life Coach is high tech powernapping hardware -- a stylishly designed black gadget that is small but packed with new technologies.
The device combines several proven techniques that result in the feeling you've just had a refreshing and revitalizing "power nap" or "meditation" session. The pzizz (pronounced just like it's spelled) combines a variety of methods and technologies including NLP, enchanting music, sound effects and a binaural beat to achieve a relaxed state of mind. This special mind state is similar to states of consciousness experienced while in meditation or in Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. It is in this relaxed state that the unconscious is most open to positive suggestions to help you change..
Once taking you there, pzizz delivers literally billions of different combinations of suggestions, affirmations through the structured language patterns and sounds that encourage the subconscious not only to relax but also to energize and focus both mind and body. These suggestions are the result of the expertise of Michael Breen, the World's foremost NLP Master Trainer. His voice is the one that the pzizz uses to guide you through a variety of different programs which you choose.
Your choice of programs on pzizz puts you in control of the entire process. You can select the length of your sessions to suit the time you have available or simply according to the time that you find works best for you. This concept is unique as all other programs require you find the time to fit in with their idea of the perfect length nap. pzizz then creates a nap to fit the time you have selected, choosing from a multitude of different voice and sound files that it has stored in the program. Most incredibly, pzizz mixes a slightly different "soundtrack" for you every time you use it, so that even if you select 25 minutes each time, it is virtually impossible for you to hear the same thing twice! Power Nap Kit

What is the Power Nap Kit: ? Why is it good for you?
It's an easy to use product that helps you to take short naps. Why is that a good thing? More than 65% of teens and adults in the USA are sleep-deprived. Getting even 20 minutes extra sleep will make anyone feel better, have more energy, and be more productive.
Inside the package are two CDs (CD1 & CD2) and a booklet. (Set aside the booklet for later reference if you feel like it). You might consider burning the Power Nap Kit onto your home PC for easy use, and also burning it onto your digital music player. On CD1, choose one of the three voice-guided relaxation tracks for your first power nap.
While you listen to the selected track, try to relax and fall asleep. The whole point is to get relaxed enough that you fall asleep. You do not need to listen to the entire track. The less you listen the better, since the whole idea is to relax and fall asleep!
CD1 contains three tracks. Each one has a different approach to relaxation, and each Power Nap Kit user will prefer one track over the others - it's just natural. Try each one at different times, and find out which one helps you fall asleep most easily and quickly.
On all three tracks, after the voice-guided session is over, relaxation music will continue to play. For users who have a difficult time falling asleep, they will be able to listen to specialized music for relaxation. After about 30 minutes, a chime will be heard repeatedly so you will wake up. Because the ideal power nap lasts for only 10-30 minutes. Sleep longer than that, and when you awaken you may feel groggy. But a short nap is ideal, and will leave you feeling refreshed, energetic and ready to do whatever is next on your busy to-do list!
As you become accustomed to using CD1 for your power naps, you may find it helpful to switch to CD2. On CD2, there is no talking, only the relaxation music with the chimes to wake you up again.
Use the Power Nap Kit to easily get more sleep. You will feel better, you'll be more rested and more productive, and according to recent research, it might even help you to lose weight! <Get the Power Nap at Amazon
