The Power of the Living Word

Short articles about the geography, customs, and values of the people in the Bible

This site covers an in-depth analysis of the Temple and Tabernacle, Jewish customs and values in the Bible times, the geography of the land in the Bible, and a comprehensive study of the Old and New Testaments.

Most of the books are already in archives, and the whole book can be read or either printed.

It was very interesting to me to study the geography of the land at the time of Jesus. In my mind I can now see the beautiful city of Jerusalem as it sits on a hill with the gleaming Temple as its focal point.

The people walked through the Mount of Olives and then down into the valley before ascending the hill again to their beloved city.

I also learned much about the customs and values of the people. They fiercely protected their families, and the older and younger generations all lived together. That way the older ones could help to raise the young children and nurture them as they grew into adults.

One of the books gives a complete description of the Tabernacle as it sat in all its glory in the middle of the wilderness. The book goes into great detail about the curtains, everything inside, and the sacrifices that were made outside.

There is another book about the Temple of the New Testament that goes into great detail of what it looked like, and the sacrifices that were made there.

There is one whole book that dwells on the customs and values of the Jewish people. It is really quite fascinating, and makes you see that they were real people just like you and me.

The next two books are not really about the Bible. The first is about the life and travels of David Livingstone into the interior of Africa as a missionary. He mapped out the roads and rivers that are still used today. Then the travels of Stanley are chronicled as he went deep into the interior to see if he could find out if Livingstone was still alive.

There is also comprehensive study on both Old and New Testaments that get into great detail.

The Word of God is very powerful, and can totally change your life. Ask God to show you who He is, and you will never regret it.

Jesus Christ~Prayer~The Answer~You, Me, Obama, McCain

John 14:6 (King James Version) ....I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. A commentary on the faith in Jesus Christ and the current state of affairs in America and our world. There is, indeed, a God watching. Take all the "mess" to Him in prayer daily. Each of us can have fun discussing politics and other matters...Yet, we must remember to take it all to God daily. When He makes the final call, the score will be accumulated, and the clock will run out...for only He can make that call. And, through Jesus Christ, we can find ourselves on that narrow road with no clock ticking... All comments are approved generally within the hour of posting and not less than 24 hours. About cathydeaton

Hi, I'm Cathy Deaton.

God has changed my life since I fully committed it to Him. I never want to go back to the way I was.

Any person who truly desires God will live their life in wonder and awe at the way that God chooses to use them to do His Work. It is an awesome ride, and believe me when I say that you will never get bored.

At the beginning of 2003, I felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to start a web site. I had only had my computer for about 6 months and had no clue how to even start, plus I didn't know what content to put on it.

As I was in my study one day, God told me to put some study books online. I wrote to the publishers and all of them were public domain books, which meant that all I had to do was put them in my own words.

I would have done that any way, since they were written about 100 years ago. They are still very relevant, though. I went through the books and divided them into short articles that would be easy and quick to read. Almost all of the whole books are archived now.

I have learned so much about the Bible by doing this. I know about the geography of the Bible lands, the customs of the time, and even styles of clothing. It has really helped my Bible study immensely.

I hope that you will go to the website and read and print the articles so that the Bible can become more real to you.
