The mind is very powerful! After having my daughter I suffered sever post partum depression, I decided to opt out on prescription drugs and focus on my mental well being. I began meditating and thinking positive, relying on uplifting books and web sites, it worked! You can change your whole life by changing how you think!

It is hard for me to buy that water molecules actually change from emotions. I had read once about how plants had feelings, and seriously believed it for a while. Then I read a little deeper into the subject, and came to find the experiments were not properly controlled. I will have to read more into this phenomenon that you describe. This lens was chocked full of information, and was very entertaining.

I believe firmly in positive thought, and am quite addicted to some of the motivation speakers out there. I am currently hooked on Les Brown, and he has quite a story to tell.

You certainly held my attention with your very comprehensive article on the power of the subconcious mind and a very good reminder that we are what we think and that we can alter those things that are not producing what we are aiming for in life. Your banana story certainly had my heart going out and I was a little uncomfortable in a fresh water lake after jaws...and I knew that was a crazy impossibility on an inland lake in northern Minnesota that I had learned to swim in! May we stretch to possibility thinking...
  • sukkran Nov 28, 2011 @ 12:31 pm | delete
great topic and well presented lens. book marked.

There is so much that we don't realize about our own minds that it isn't even funny. Imagine what we could accomplish as a species if we could get all of our mind working.
  • jackoboy Nov 23, 2011 @ 6:00 am | delete
In recent years i have used my Subconscious Mind to help me solve vatious problems in my life,it takes time and practice to be able to sit quiet and remove all thoughts from your mind and search for answers, but with practice the answers do come,It's also a very relaxing thing to try a bit like having a power nap in some ways,
This is a brilliant lense that i will keep comming back to,and i see you have more.

Great lens! You can achieve anything in your life if only you can control both your subconscious and conscious mind. Otherwise they will work in default mode.
  • DANCINGCOWGIRLDESIGN Nov 21, 2011 @ 3:17 am | delete
I agree about this, especially your mind controlling your habits. I really like this lens and give it a Blessing. Best Wishes with your writing on Squidoo.
  • SereneSea Nov 20, 2011 @ 11:21 am | delete
It is sad that we do not know the power of our own minds and how to use them, subconscious and conscious both parts of our brain could be made positive and affirmative.
  • SheWritesaLot Nov 20, 2011 @ 11:00 am | delete
I love this lens! I firmly believe in the power of the subconscious mind and I'd leave a much longer comment here but I don't want to detract from your lens. Great job!
  • Luv2help Nov 19, 2011 @ 4:10 pm | delete
It's too bad that we can't learn the basics of our mind's capacity and how we can influence our lives with techniques such as what you've written about.
A lot of people would have more hope in their daily lives. Thanks for the reminder :)
    KEEP SMILIN'!

The subconcious mind is very powerful. It can be challenging to change negative belief's but it can be done. I also like to use affirmations to help reaffirm positive thoughts. I enjoyed reading your lens!
  • ModernChakra Nov 5, 2011 @ 4:48 pm | delete
Amazing look into the subconscious. Thank you so much for putting this together. I could not agree more of the power of the subconscious. My personal saying: "The conscious mind is 10 times as loud but only 1/10th as powerful as the subconscious mind."
  • Lifeboost Nov 5, 2011 @ 4:50 pm | delete
Heh heh, love that saying of yours - it's spot-on! Thanks for visiting! :)
  • squidoopets Nov 4, 2011 @ 6:40 pm | delete
Have you heard of the Heisenburg Uncertainty Principle? It's a great bridge from the linear of science to the nonlinear of consciousness.

Very interesting. I do the affirmations and you are right, you have to keep at it to make them work. The self hypnosis video was pretty neat.

we have yet to understand the human mind and all it's abilities, I do believe though in being positive, what comes around goes around....:)rob
  • TotusMundus Oct 27, 2011 @ 8:07 am | delete
I truly believe in positive affirmations, I use them all the time, particularly at highly stressful moments. They are very calming and reassuring. This is a really great lens. Thanks.

Thanks very much for the "heads-up" about the video, Fanstanding - I couldn't find another one of the same standard, so I've removed it. Will keep an eye out for new videos that give good and interesting information, to add in. :) Thanks also for the kind feedback. :)

I have read much on these years ago and found them really useful.
  • crosscreations Oct 23, 2011 @ 1:02 pm | delete
VERY interesting topic! Have been reading other perspectives about the power of the subconscious mind and find it fascinating, watched a video recently called the Collective Evolution that is similar in many ways to this lens, it can be viewed on YouTube, a documentary released Sept 2011. That we actually can effect physical outcomes via collective thought is amazing! Not sure that the 'subconscious' mind applies in this film I mention above though, seems to be more of an inner dedication toward positive thought, that then adds to that vibration and energy in a collective way toward desired outcomes.
  • Noctambulant Oct 21, 2011 @ 1:41 pm | delete
Wow...I did not expect to see a lens on this subject...One of your recommended books, "The Power of the Subconscious Mind" by Murphy was one of my favorites for quite some time...Fascinating stuff...:)

  • WiccaLady Jun 21, 2010 @ 7:27 am | delete
This is a really interesting lens! I recently did a mindfulness course which is all about recognising what you do on autopilot and realising that your relationship with things that happen is created in you. So rather than getting frustrated with my slow computer I take a deep breath and all is good again! :o)
  • d-artist Jun 15, 2010 @ 9:10 am | delete
interesting subject and lens...I have always believed you are what you believe you are...negative self talk should be taken out of your verbiage...your reaction to your negative subconscious mind is a choice (that is if you are not mentally ill) whoa, this is deep!
  • kaiserthesage Jun 6, 2010 @ 9:16 am | delete
Wow, this is definitely great! Just like my lens, but the difference is yours are on steroids! Kapow!
  • Kyecerulian Jun 1, 2010 @ 11:08 pm | delete
Fascinating lens! You've given a huge amount of great information. I'm probably going to have to come back to read it all again just to let it all sink in.
