Renewable, Green Electric Power Generation Using Captured Heat and Wasted Pressure
The Technology
Heat Recovery/Co-generation or Low Grade Heat Applications
Powerverde has developed and tested an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) based electric power generation system. The system derives heat from solar collectors, mounted on roofs or adjacent land, using its proprietary positive displacement radial designed motor or Gas Expansion Motor (GEM).
This system creates renewable green electrical power without emitting any Hydro-carbons or waste stream byproducts. PowerVerde has been in test mode since February, with varying electric loads and after hundreds of hours of continuous operation, has met all test criteria.
PowerVerde is also developing a Co-Generation System, utilizing waste heat recovered from existing industrial machinery or fossil fuel base generator systems. Data and telecommunication centers, as well as hospitals, fire, and safety services, must operate even when the municipal grid shuts down. As a function of National Security these centers, as well as others, depend on Diesel Generators during power disruptions. PowerVerde's Heat Recovery/Co-generation Power System can make these fossil fuel dependent diesel generators 20% to 30% more efficient. In other words on the same finite amount of fuel, these systems could operate 20% to 30% longer.

Gas Pressure Motor (GPM)
Powerverde, Inc has developed and filed several patents on a unique system for generating megawatts of electric power by utilizing energy that is presently wasted at pressure letdown locations on existing natural gas (NG) pipeline infrastructure. These unique power systems will be able to generate electric power without inputting additional energy into the system, or disrupting the flow of the NG to end use customers. There are zero waste stream byproducts or carbon dioxide emissions.
The NG pipeline infrastructure needs to reduce the transmission pressure before delivering the NG to end use customers. The transmission pressure can be as high as 1500psi, and must be reduced to less than 100psi for distribution. Presently, this pressure drop is accomplished by throttling the pressure down using mechanical means. The process wastes the latent potential energy of the NG . The PowerVerde system utilizes the high pressure side of the natural gas in the pipeline to generate electric power. The resultant power is produced without emitting any pollutants or adding any carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. In essence, after the initial cost of installation, notwithstanding maintenance costs, the electric power generated is free, nonpolluting and operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
