PR, Blogging, Web 2.0: Mucking About In The Marketing Mix
Ranked #43,540 in Business & Work, #529,526 overall
I am a principal at SHIFT Communications, a "PR 2.0" agency with offices in Boston & San Francisco.
We focus on tech & consumer accounts - typically start-ups and/or mid-sized companies looking to recapture that start-up glow.
In addition to "traditional" PR activities, blog relations, etc., at SHIFT we're also keen to prove the $$$ impact that PR can have on our clients' sales.
This Lens will reflect the drippings from my brainpan, via my blog at PR Squared, and, links to my side project, The Good Pitch Blog.
My Blogs - Where I Rant, My Website - Where I Recant
- My blog: PR Squared
- This is the spot where I get to talk about what it's like to run a PR agency... about PR strategies & tactics... about clients who "get it" and "don't get it"... about the PR:Sales Disconnect... and, sometimes, about my dog.
- My agency: SHIFT Communications
- This is the spot where we get to talk about our successes and services. Be sure to check out the LeadSensor page if you want a sense of how it is (finally) possible to show clients the revenue impact of PR programs.

- Measurement Matters
- The inimitable Sam Whitmore of MediaSurvey interviewed a client re: how SHIFT helped her measure PR's bottom-line power.
- P&G Agrees With Me
- This post fawns over the marketing chiefs at Proctor & Gamble, for helping spread the word about PR measurement.
- PR as Profit Center
- The folks over at Global PR Blog Week 2.0 were kind enough to publish this rant. It's kinda' long but slams into the current PR "measurement" models.
- The Internet's Future
- Read It Here First!
- When Bloggers Attack!
- Advice for the attacked, the clueless, the forlorn. Don't hide - go along for the ride!
- "What Would David Do?"
- On competitive relations. Read this when you're ready to start a revolution. This one got Seth's stamp approval (he sent me a nice note), so that's something.
- "PR is Dead" (NOT!)
- Now this, my friends, is a rant. Do me a favor and at least read this post thru to the semi-clever analogy.
- Funny Story 'bout a Big Dog
- Nothing to do about PR. Just a funny story. See how the limits of friendship are tested by a maelstrom of doggie diarrhea!
