What Are The Psychic Abilities?

1. Clairsentience or claircognizance: Knowing things. Just getting information in your mind. No clear reason, not like telepathy, picking up words from someone, just knowing. You will find all your senses might kick in to help.
   
   

2. Clairvoyance: All psychics and mediums used to be called clairvoyant, which means seeing, a seer. It was expected that clairvoyants could contact the dead and see the future, the two things people were most interested in. Now, it stands for using psychic vision, and seeing, either within your mind or in the space before you, images.
   
   

3. Clairaudience: Hearing things. In part, it is telepathy, hearing other people's thoughts, but it can also mean hearing music, sounds, voices from somewhere else.
   
   

4. Clairalience: Smelling things. Trust me, this one can drive you nuts sometimes, especially if you smell smoke! It's too easy for natural scents to drift in from far away, so you need to assume natural causes are the probable cause, unless you get a repeated scent that you can't find another reason for. A scent could be used as a signature by someone who has crossed over, to let you know he or she is there.
   
   

5. Clairgustance or clairsavorance: Tasting things. This is another you need to make sure you can't find a natural cause for, because if a specific taste keeps coming back to you, it could be a medical condition. But if you keep having a pattern of tasting things, all sorts of things, it is a psychic ability.
   
   I have this. It's fun to watch the travel and food channels, because I can pick up the tastes of the food. Yum!
   
   

6. Psychic Empathy: This ability is a deeper version of the empathy all people have, or should have. It's the most common psychic sense, and the most bothersome. You are picking up other people's emotions and physical feelings. You need to know how to control your emotions, and let theirs go, to feel healthy.
   
   

7. Psychic Psychometry: Being able to pick up information by touch. This is an amazing ability, because it's not just a matter of picking up emotions or energy signatures, like I do - you can pick up any variety of information. You can be clairvoyant by touch, precognitive by touch, a medium by touch - this ability combines with the other abilities. The most amazing psychometrist I ever met could give people a rundown of the last few days of their lives by holding their hands - he was postcognitive! (that's coming up!).

8. Precognition: Sensing future events. Anything from a feeling telling you something's coming, to clear signs and information of what that will be. Before the earthquake in Haiti, I kept getting messages from people: "why do I feel this is coming up? What's coming? I feel something..." I ahd a dream in which I was disoriented and confused, in a city where nothing was happening, but the buildings I saw turned out to be buildings in Port au prince, including the President's Palace, which I mistook for a state capitol building (and the place did resemble a lot of state capitol buildings; Port au Prince is the capitol of Haiti.)

9. Postcognition: Sensing events from the past. You sense the energies left by past events. It can be amazing to experience. I've seen things of many times and places, just attending museums. It gives you such a sense of our common history.
   
   

10. Mediumship: People tend to thinking of this as talking to the dead, but it's really more the dead talking to you. Those who have crossed over can sense when someone is on the right energy frequency to sense them. Some mediums have an energy that broadcasts and acts as a beacon for entities. these are the mediums who become professionals Most people will only get contact from people they know or who have the same energy frequency they have. So don't assume that if you have contact with people who are in your home or from you family that you are the kind of medium that can make this your work. it depends on who all can come to you.
    
    

11. Telepathy: Communicating mind to mind. Want to hear something odd? Once upon a time, the idea of reading minds was the thing everyone wanted to know how to do! But now - it's the last thing I see anyone wanting to discuss. Why? because it seems like the most invasive gift we could have. Some people, such as twins and family members, have it easily - you can tell when two people are talking in tandem, one finishing the sentence the other has started, or saying the same thing at the same time. I've had this with a few people. it just happens.
    
    But when you start really intending to read someone's mind - that's an invasion, I feel, few people really want.
    
    Sending a message from mind to mind, however, if you really need to, can be a great help in times of emergency. I once worked with someone who was a good telepathic receiver. All I had to do was project to him "problem here" and he was right with me.
    
    If you have this ability, be prudent and discreet. Don't misuse it. If someone suspects you can read minds you might find that person is gone from your life. I've had that happen as well.
    
    

12. Psychokinesis or Telekinesis Oh, this is the one everybody would like to have! On the surface, at least. But most psychokinetic activity happens in the form of poltergeist activity, which is not pleasant to experience and even less pleasant to know you have caused it! It's not controllable - it comes out of chaotic hormonal energy.
    
    The kind of things Uri Geller became famous for really were magic tricks, very simple to do. But the cases like that of Nina Kulagina seen in the video that follows, are more compelling. The problem is - it takes a lot of energy to do this. You can see what a toll it took on Kulagina.
    
    Even though it's an amazing ability, the amount of energy needed just to move small objects is tremendous, which is why the extraordinary activity involved in poltergeist phenomena puts me in awe of what hormonal energy can do!
