Hello, my name is Jon. A little bit about myself...I'm married with 2 children, a boy and a girl. We have 2 Basset hounds and a miniature Dachsund. In order to pay the bills, I work as an IT consultant for my day job. Computers are a passion of mine. I've been working with computers and technology for as long as I can remember. My first computer was a Commodore 64 that my parents bought for me when I was 10 years old. I love Apple computers. That is my platform of choice although I spend a majority of my day handling tech support for Windows machines. I've dabbled in Linux but at the end of the day, its just me and my MacBook.

I teach Sunday school in my local church. Over the last two years, I've grown in my teaching abilities and I continually strive to improve. My goals for the class are outreach and discipleship.

I love to read. I read everything including self-development, history, sci-fi, business, technical books, graphic novels, etc. A few books that I've read recently are Brain Rules, Confessions of an Economic Hitman, 4 Hour Work Week, and The Dip. I also listen to podcasts. Some of my favorite podcasts are done by Leo Laporte and his TWIT network of podcasts.

I have a blog @ jonphillips.net where I attempt to post things I find interesting. It's also a landing page for other sites that I post to such as twitter, flickr, and facebook. Social networking fascinates me. I am often trying to figure out how to use social networking in other ways. That's why I love Squidoo. Squidoo provides a place on the Web where anybody can create a lens about anything they want. If you passionate about something, this is a forum get it out to the world.
