Pray For Me - The Need of Having Someone To Pray With You
Asking the phrase "Pray For Me" can be three difficult words to express to someone else. Sometimes it feels as if life hits all at once. I confess I have been there. It is both scary, lonely, and heartbreaking at times to ask someone else to please pray for me.
Life moves so fast and in the midst of life things happen that are out of our control. It is in the moments we are quickly reminded the importance and necessity of prayer.
Sometimes we find ourselves alone praying for something over and over and nothing seems to change. We even begin asking the big questions: Does God Care? Does God Hear My Prayers?.
I have found three words that begin to move the process forward no matter how difficult the situation is the phrase "Please Pray For Me".
Asking a friend, a priest or a pastor, or just someone that we trust or respect to pray for us begins the process of moving forward along with God's response.
When life does become more than we can handle havine someone there to pray with us and for us can change our entire course during those difficult times.
Let me share with you a few steps towards learning to pray and also point you in the right direction if you do need someone to pray for you.

Pray For Me - 3 Essentials To Personal Prayer
Allow Daily Jesus To Pray For You

Wanting to know how to pray is not a foolish thing to want to learn how to do. In fact, the disciples of Jesus one day went up to Jesus and asked, "Lord, Teach us to pray".
The truth is prayer is something that is learned. It does not come natural or easy. Often the thing that stops us from praying the most is just 'starting' or not knowing where to begin. Prayer is not meant to be a mystery or confusing. It is simply just talking to God.
Let me share with you three quick essentials that the Bible teaches are important to prayer.
1. Approach God With Humility.
A powerful example of prayer is found in Luke 18. Jesus shares about two men who went to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector both begin praying to God. The Pharisee was both full of pride and boastful, yet the tax collector was just the opposite. The tax collector was humble ad begged for God's mercy. Scripture says that God hears the prayers of the humble. If we humble ourselves in the sight of God, God will lift us up.
2. Make Sure to Be Persistent.
This is a struggle for myself. It can be so easy to give up and throw in the towel when asking and waiting for an answer to prayer. The Bible is filled with examples of men and women who persevered in prayer. I am reminded of Luke 18 where the little old widow did not lose heart in asking the judge. James is quick to remind us that the fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. We need to be persistent in our prayers with God
3. Start Praying In Jesus' Name.
All prayer must be Christ centered. The New Testament is filled with references that share the essential truth that our prayers must be prayed int he name of Jesus. John 16 say,s "Truly I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." As we develop our prayer life and pray in Jesus Name, God the Father does hear us. He will respond to our prayers when they are offered in the name of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ.
