Isn't it ironic that those who have been blessed the most worry the most? When God supplies for a need, we worry that the next time we have a need, He won't. We continually question the faithfulness of God, as if God cannot ALWAYS be trusted.

When we read God's promise in scripture that He "will supply all your needs," we suddenly doubt whether "all" means ALL. "He'll supply all of my needs for salvation, but that's where it ends." "He's supplied for THIS need, but what about the NEXT need?" "He supplied for THAT need, but what if I screw up?" Isn't that ironic?

When God provides for ONE need, hasn't he proven himself faithful forever? If he has provided eternal life, why do we doubt he will clothe us better than the flowers of the field, or feed us better than the birds of the air? God is not 'hell-bent' on making our lives miserable. He is not out to teach us a lesson. We can trust Him.

'But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."'

And so we have to remind ourselves of God's goodness. We have to remember that God loves us. We have to remind ourselves who God is. We forget too easily!

The nation of Israel continually built reminders. Every time something major happened in the history of the nation, God instructed them to build an altar. There must have been many altars in the country, each one erected as a reminder of the faithfulness of God...and the people saw them often! But soon life, the day-to-day events that surrounded them, crept in and they forgot

And so we must remember Psalm 77:

Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most High." I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.

We must never forget!
