Pre Order Nintendo Wii U

Find all the latest Wii U news and release updates here. I am so stoked for the Wii U. The tablet controller is genius--a mix of a portable gaming system with an HD quality gaming console. The Wii U is aiming at bringing "core" gamers back to Nintendo--which will prove rough since it seems nearly 75% of all Wii games are bargain bin family titles like Cold Stone Creamery and Cooking Mama Cook Off. I pretend these games from my favorite video game company are just a bad dream, because the Wii has had some awesome games like Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario Kart, and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

If I don't get a Wii U on day 1, someone is going down. The Wii U will be the first console I've gotten at launch, all consoles before it (NES, Genesis, PS1 and 2, Wii) have been Christmas presents. It just feels cooler getting the system at launch, then bragging to your buddies about why you're so awesome. As of right now, the earliest the Wii U will launch is June 2012. Hopefully that's the case because Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will only tide me over so long, and there appears to be no other good Wii games on the horizon for the foreseeable future.

So far, only a Pikmin and Super Smash Bros. have been confirmed as Nintendo Wii U launch titles, and one third-party game, Ninja Gaiden III, which is also coming out on PS3 and Xbox 360 in early 2012. Team Ninja hasn't divulged whether the Wii U game will be different. There will probably be at least one racing game too, every new video game console launch has had one. Batman: Arkham City is also being developed for the Wii U but no release date has been confirmed.

Well, that's it for now. The countdown begins. I can hardly wait--I haven't been this excited since I watched Jimmy take down Lucas playing Super Mario Bros. 3 at the Video Armageddon. I will update any Wii U release dates and game schedules.
