Moldavite is found only in the vicinity of a crater in Bohemia.
It was struck by a meteorite. Pieces of molten material, melted on atmospheric entry & from the impact, cooled on the way to Earth. Clearer, larger crystals can be found deep in the ground, where the material cooled more slowly.
