Deep in our bones.......

"Deep in our bones resides an ancient, singing couple who just won't give up making their beautiful, wild noise. The world won't end if we can find them."

from Secrets of the Talking Jaguar, Martin's first book

He is healer, teacher, artist, writer,
and true human being.

[ I am noticing in the explore related pages section below, that there are lenses showing up about the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012.....Martin can tell you the truth about all this.....it is not what a lot of the general consensus seems to be saying. ]

Feeding the spirit, paying back the debt...

From lensmaster, Elsah Cort:

I feel humbled to talk about Martin Prechtel here. I have made this lens for those who need to come upon it and find something they need to hear.

Martin says, "It's like my old teacher used to say: 'You sit singing on a little rock in the middle of a pond, and your song makes a ripple that goes out to the shores where the spirits live. When it hits the shore, it sends an echo back toward you. That echo is the spiritual nutrition.' When you send out a gift, you send it out in all directions at once. And then it comes back to you from all directions. "
(this quote is from the article/interview that appeared in The Sun magazine, link for the entire article is below.)

I invite you to first read his Jaguar book and discover the story he knows so well, because he lived it and continues to live it in the work that he does every day.

He says, "My experience has always been if you love something or someone passionately enough you will amplify your heart, eschew ancestral biases, open your mind, train your hands and go to any extent to learn the language of what you love, to comprehend and be comprehended, in order to converse with the Divine in the thing you love."

Saving the Inigenous Soul: An Interview with Martin Prechtel
Published in "The Sun" April 2001, with Derrick Jensen
Interview with Martin in 1997...
"The culture and the world as it is now is in a very interesting place. One place, I think, is very hopeful and in another place, destruction is very possible. At that kind of crossroads is the greatest opportunity of all: because it's like the time when a person is a teenager and falls in love. It's like an adolescent thing where there's a possibility that they're going to drive themselves over the cliff and kill themselves. There's also the possibility that the sort of sweet subversion of falling in love for the first time, feeling all these things and making all these discoveries, can possibly make an opening space for things that have been forgotten and thrown away long ago to come back in a new form. We like to say, maybe this is the time when the old tree trunk gets new sap and grows a new kind of flower that's never been seen before . . . because this is simultaneously a great time of opportunity and great time of possibility of destruction. People consciously making some sort of approach to life as opposed to just sitting and watching: "Well is it going to blow up or not?" If you look at the cities, you've got all these people who don't want to look at what's going on inside with the kids and all that . . . and these people are part of the problem."

There are only four books here...so far..
These are really good, an understatement for sure.
I have have put them in the sequence of the potent story that Martin shares.
I am looking forward to his next book.

    Dear Martin,
I read your first book while I was on a spontaneous journey safari through the Masi Mara in Kenya. O laughed and cried many times as your words could have been mine and through tear filled eys as I read the last pages or so when you said something like...and now the Indians have something they never had before, doors, and as I looked up at the small round Masi huts I realized that the remote village we stayed in had not one door and as we got closer to where colonialization has changed the minds of Africans forever, doors and square houses became the norm. I love your deep understanding of the indigenous soul, its so much more than we can try to explain let alone help people to get back to but your words were warming to my spirit that there are kindered souls on Pacha Mama. If you ever come to Australia please let me know as here is home for now, or if you have workshops, training , gathering I can fly to where I need to go. ONE LOVE CHEZE
