Hi I am Bruce Mackay I have hunted moose and deer for thirty five years and have done quite well. The early years I got skunked a lot but then I did not have much of a rifle and little knowledge of how to use it, My father was a second ww vet. and had lost all interest in hunting and Killing. So that left me and my brothers on our own to learn and we sort of learned how not to do it. After a few years I met a friend who liked to shoot and hunt, well he liked to road hunt but he did teach me how to take a site picture. Then I could head shoot grouse. It took me a few years of bad hunts to find and adopt the idea of reloading for accuracy and distance. Once I did their was no turning back.The idea of hunting with a four inch group at a hundred for a site in was gone.

Now if my gun shoots over a one inch group I had better have a huge hangover or its back to the reloading bench. Normally I shoot a seven inch group at five hundred yards that's a three shot group. With a 7MM Rem. That's as long as I have set up for.

The main components for a good reload are quality lead with a good brass I found primers are usually consistent. The bullet seating for depth I found was hard to do and had a huge effect on bullet performance. I found that boat tail rounds were a big accuracy improvement.

Just doing the work to test loads was some of the the best fun. It seemed to be hard to find an accuracy load that was at max powder load. That was what I liked to find for precision reloading.
