Why buy second hand?
Of course there are many reasons why it is good to buy second hand.
1) Firstly it is generally cheaper to buy second hand so more money in your pocket or perhaps just more stuff for your money, these types of sites have become the new car boot sale (which seem to be decreasing in the amount of available bargains recently) and sites such as eBay the new auctions.
2) Secondly it is better for the environment so there is less rubbish in dumps and less pollution in the making of new products.
3) Thirdly if you need a third, there is the possibility of getting more unique items (depending on the type and age of the item).

Tips & warnings
It is important to remember that preloved doesn't take responsibility of the items/ things listed, that is up to you and the seller/ buyer. Remember to be careful when making transactions (which will have to be organised between you and the seller/ buyer), if something seems to good to be true then it is and if your buying something expensive then it is always best to go and see it for yourself before purchasing.
How does preloved make its money?
I know what your thinking no one offers anything for free, why would preloved spend all it's time and effort to just make things free it doesn't make economic sense. Yes this is true and they do generate an income from this site through other ways...
1) Paid advertisements, banners ect are placed on the site and they generate an income from this. Think about it all those pages of content created from listings and how much traffic can be generated from this.
2) From business and premium accounts -
If your a business you will need to pay £20 per month for advertising and at the moment businesses can get 2 months free when they sign up (make sure to check terms of service to see if you should register as a business). Although you would be charged £20 per month if your selling a lot it is better than having to pay a commission (check terms of service).
Premium accounts are cheaper than business accounts allow buyers to get to see adverts before everyone else (first refusal kind of thing) and for sellers the can add backgrounds and remove advertisements to give advertisements greater attention, check terms of service also.
