Prepare a Marketing Student Resume

Although preparing a resume may appear to be a daunting/discouraging task for many, yet it is the most important document which can secure you a good job offer. A resume is a brief description of your talents, skills and job experience. All in all, it is your portrait in front of the potential employer and will help him/her to asses whether you are suitable for a particular position or not. Hence, it is necessary that you write the resume effectively for making a good impression!

Making a resume for a marketing student is not an easy task! There are loads of marketing students around and you need to highlight the fact, that you are better from the rest! It is mandatory that you include marketing/management terms like "having good communication, inter-personal and team-building skills" or "performed product analysis, handled product promotion, media endorsement etc". These terms will show that you have a strong knowledge of marketing principles and practices.

1. A resume objective is the most important part of your resume. As a marketing student you can write your resume objective such as, "seeking the position of marketing assistant where I am able to utilize my expertise and knowledge for the progress of the organization." You can mention about various skills that you posses- communication, inter-personal and business skills.

2. Your educational qualification plays the second important role in the resume. Here you need to mention about the degrees, diploma certificates and courses that you have attained. For example, you can mention about an MBA degree, management diploma course as well as extra courses that you might have attended.

3. Don't forget to mention the projects or tasks that you might have done during your internship or training. For example, you can mention, "Conducted independent research on company's product, compiled data for the statistical analysis report, assisted the manager in achieving business targets, arranged meetings with potential buyers etc."

4. Since you are a marketing student, so you need to mention about the project report that you have prepared while doing your studies. The project report could be about comparative findings, product analysis, market research, company's policies and other findings.

5. You may also mention about the compute skills that you have. For example, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
